so around 13 outcast ships just attacked gamma.

From what I was told, they had 2 destroyers, 2 gunboats, 4 bombers, and around 5-6 fighters.

The corsairs only had a few people online, we ended up with a couple of bombers, a couple of fighters, and myself (zoner destroyer).

They outnumbered us almost 2-1 and we still beat them down... gotta say, you corsairs know how to fly :D

actually surprised I lived through the fight, took out both outcast destroyers when I first showed up, didnt see the gunboats though... after the dessies were dead I managed to land 3-4 killing blows on their bombers fighters in a row... seriously, learn how to strafe and I wont be able to hit you - i'm a TERRIBLE shot... I engine killed and did a 180 and these guys kept flying straight at me trying to shoot me up while I tore their ships apart.

Was more like, 2 Dessies, 1 gb, 10 fighters and 1 bomber..

You guys had. 1 Dessie, 2 gunboats, 3 bombers, and a few fighters..

But thats not the point, we all had good fun, and the Corsairs came out on top..

EDIT: And GAAAH! Gamma is a laggy laggy system, i sat back for the first 2 mins of the fight, and i had red lag the whole time... HOWEVER im not blaming our defeat on lag.. so dont start flaming..

There were at least 4 Corsair gbs at the beginning that went down REALLY fast.

Tenacity, I find your personality boorish but I'm going to complement you on your flying today...

When you showed up we had already been hammered a bit by the fighters and the Dessies didn't know you were there until too late.

hm... guess whoever told me what they had was wrong then, but I didnt see any gunboats on our side until after halfway through the fight...t hen again there was a lot of chaos and I wasnt paying much attention to my own side.

Still... I dont consider myself that good at pvp, and with the help of a couple bombers I ripped through two OC dessies and 3-4 of your fighters/bombers in a row without so much as my shields going down... Surprised myself =P

Well I did show up late, I had just logged in at omicron 100 when I found out about the attack, and you guys were already getting into theta before I was back to minor =P

as for the supernovas going through me... i was drifting quite a bit, probably just lag. Usually I expect to die very quickly due to my ship's size.

I just wish I would have had fraps running for that, I've never seen such a good fight in my time here... it's either a 2 hour long dodge fest with a bunch of fighters, or capfleets clashing and destroying each other in seconds... This is the first time I've seen a real mixed fleet (two, at that) in battle.






One more edit:

I noticed a -huge- difference between the 'indie' outcast pilots and the ROS and other factioned pilots there... once the capships were dead at least. Most of the non tagged pilots on the outcast side went down extremely fast after we were done focusing on the destroyers, they flew in straight lines, didnt dodge, and essentially tried to shoot me like they'd shoot an NPC. The more experienced pilots (a couple indies and the factioned guys) survived for a pretty long while.

I say more training sessions are in order... God knows I could use some tips on how to properly fly a capship (or anything for that matter). I'll be the first to admit that I'm not great at pvp here, but I've been getting in a lot of practice lately.

My shields on one of the OC Dessies didnt move til the 3 bombers and Zoner Dessie hit me all at once, then i felt a warm feeling in the backa me pants...;)

agreed, I had more fun in this one battle than in the rest of my time here. Adrenaline was pumpin for once.

I was dead certain we were going to get our backsides whooped all over gamma with how badly we were outnumbered, but once I got into the system I just concentrated on the biggest targets first and tried to get everyone to focus fire on one ship at a time, we were pretty well coordinated I think.

I helped the bombers take out the destroyers, and afterwords just called out one target at a time, bombers first then on to fighters, and had everyone on our side focus fire on that one target till it was dead.

Well fought on both sides i had just put the finishing shot into a corsair cap and had lit up a bomber and several fighters before getting hammered. I have only been playing a week but that was as much fun as i have had with any multi player game in a long time.
