SNAC is now not only useless against snubs, but useless in general. It's completely outclassed in every possible role by other bomber torpedo options.

Corona is still broken because the range, which was one of its main issues, was unchanged.

We've known for a while now that this change was coming, and although I didn't realize just how little thought was going to be put into its "rebalance", I can't say I'm terribly surprised.

"Helpless snubs" lmfao, good joke. A Fighter is a thousand times superior to Bombers. The snac was a way to have atleast a chance against em. Sure skilled peeps can do kills with it, but a same skilled VHF pilot would kill many more snubs.

Quote:- Added balancemagic FLHook plugin - SNAC, Corona beam now have scaling damage modifiers against hull based on ship class, eg 15% damage vs fighters and 100% to battleships

I welcome this. Bombers spending more time trying to SNAC fighters in mixed fleet engagements was always a silly thing to me.
Back in 4.85, where 3-hour long furballs were a thing, I would have complained. Now that snub combat is much faster, SNACs felt like a cheap relic. I welcome this change.

We all knew changing SNAC in any way would be divisive anyway, this was a bold move.

Oh look, another butthurt dude that was getting SNACed due to not knowing how to dodge

aiming isn't hard either, and when there's a higher number of hostiles, that's pretty irrelevant since the guy you're chasing is pretty much always going to get hit considering you're not being surpressed most of the times in a chase, and it's just as easy to get into a position to hit them especially considering the factor i mentioned.

aiming a snac isn't hard, it's literally like any other gun but slower refire. no need to sweat that hard m'dude.

Dunno that youre such a superhuman and can easypeasy kill everyone with snac. Man if its so easy to kill snubs on snac i dunno why ive got such struggles mostly. I must suck heavily then according to this logic.

Do I think the change for the SNAC was necessary?

Absolutely.

Do I think this change was the way to do it?

Not especially, but this is one change where the bandaid fix is a good start.

I am glad this happened. I for one used to SNAC'ed down VHF / Bombers. I was getting the hang of it after few practices. Though, another part of me was not happy as it was cheap kills for a BOMBER.

So no @Nepotu - he is not a whiner because he was getting insta-killed - it was just a bit unfair. So I voted yes, a good implementation of a plug-in was added. *claps*

Also you said:

I see you are still here? Reading this felt like a "threatening" comment.

I really don't mind the change. I'm biased of course, since I have a lot of newer players in UN. But I also have a lot of bomber-centric players in UN who are less fond.

On a personal level I think it'll make fighters more inclined to hunt bombers, and bombers put to better use as anti-ship assets.
