Sorry! Was my bad! A Battlecruiser, Cruiser, Orca and Bretonian Gunboat (And a rather slow Havoc II) were camping Ouray waiting for me to come by so as to make my ship look like less of a ship than it did previously.
As I was rather confidant that they'd not be able to catch me I led them on a merry chase to Tau-45 in hopes that my guard system buddies would rip the "bored" capfiends in twain. Sadly, it wasn't to be as Tau-45 apparently sucks the big suck as a guard system.
I was on the line with Tenacity at the time, when I had to excuse myself to puzzle over what I was going to do with a small fleet of caps in Tau-45, given that he has an indie Xeno himself I can understand why he was miffed.
On that token though, I often use Virginia as a shortcut between Texas and California. It's a risky road to take for the lone Xeno, but one that's often netted me a tasty smuggler!
This whole adventure did inspire this picture though!
Sad but true, Dusty Lens, i have seen that as "eddie", even when i used exclusively the light fighter, dozens of times. Evne battleships following a single fighter..

Um, Dusty... there's a direct jump hole between Texas and California, my Hacker uses it all the time. I can't see how Virginia would be a shortcut.

Was just about to say this.
To comment on the battleships chasing fighters issue... Can we please send liberty off to war against rheinland already?
The only reason you have a dozen caps chasing after fighters and transports is because all those capship pilots are bored out of their frikken minds, so the instant some kind of pvp opportunity comes along - however dull and ridiculous it might be - they jump at it and dont give up.
If the liberty lawfuls had something to do other than sit around harassing traders all day, perhaps this wouldnt be such a problem.

Not really solving the problem though is it? redirecting the indie cap whores to Rheinland, you don't like it so why expect RM to like it?.

The jumphole from Texas to California starts in the middle of nowhere and ends in the middle of nowhere.
The Virginia passage starts close to a tradelane and ends close to a tradelane. It's just the matter of the middle part, what with the shooting and the screaming and the onoez 298 guardians with guardian guns and the battleship.
The point being that the short dangerous road can be utilized to zip ahead of the slow plodding guy using the long safe road.
