Funny coming from a guy who hates Gallia like a plague and never logged to help them at any point.

You must be confusing me with someone else.

I have three lynxes and Gallia is my favourite house. I keep speculating on the idea of creating a Gallic internal faction but keep getting held up due to other commitments. The Gallic lore are the best in the game and the Gallic systems are the most beautiful, even if they have some lane-length issues.

I've even advocated for Gallic systems not to be cut in the past.

Hell, I wrote out a huge lore document for the First Gallic Civil War.

Edit: I get that it's tempting and I do it too occasionally, but we really all should try to not use "no u" or "that's rich coming from u" when someone makes a point we don't agree with.

Don't you want a lawless system in Gallia then? That's exactly what this outcome achieves - makes Provence something like Omicron Delta but in Gallia.

You were told to "suck it up". And you indeed sucked it up, didn't even consider saying a word about it.

To an extent, do not forget, that after the first wave the event have drastically changed. To be precise, the following changes were taken:
  • Cruisers have now been under the command of actual players, and not NPCs, which excluded any aiming issues.
  • The cruisers, starting from the second wave, had significantly weaker armor than the initially spawned NPCs.
  • Freelancers have been excluded from participation for either of the sides.
  • The outcome was pretty much a draw, yet another "zero sum scenario", where either of the sides got what was proposed: Beurvay have been turned into a wreck, but Athos have been relocated to New London. Nothing really changed for the Gallic side, it even became easier for their allies to operate on the theater.
In fact, none of the sides were harmed significantly with the outcome of this event.

If you are not pleased with it's outcome - have some guts to openly state your opinion.
If you don't have the guts - you should just suck it up, which is exactly what you did.
You have no one to blame but yourself.

Peace, being the distant dream it is, comes inevitably, and goes hand in hand with justice.
Cursed be the war.

Antonio, I want that. Gallia should have its own version of Delta/Bering/Cassini.

I dislike how the event gameplay turned out due to the ambiguities involved. Don't think my opinions are me trying to rig a certain outcome. A Royalist victory would definitely be the most interesting as far as I'm concerned.

I just believe that it'll reduce net salt if we remove all the ambiguities.

The previous event resulting in the loss of a Gallic battleship by principle acts as a precedent. Regardless of technical mishaps the Gallic side incurred a loss, as was determined as fair because it would have been wrong to have punished Bonafide participation of the allied side.

If we were to apply the same legal logic here, then the innocence of the Gallic side should not be punished through repetition of the event. There is no need, they won. This time the Allies have to suck it up and move on. There is no failure on the behalf of any of the Gallic player-base, to punish them because the administration failed to do its own job would be tantamount to abuse of power. Depriving them a victory, despite obvious failings of event controllers would be just that, unfair.

Let Gallia have its win condition, plain and simple. Ignore every other snowflake grumbling about their vested interests because we've all seen how well the Council promotes activity in its systems.

When Gallia/Corsairs lost at least 6-7 players after the first wave because of the NPCs lagging out and the server crash, which resulted in them losing a lot of dps through a 3-hour event overall, they were told to "suck it up".
When the 10th cruiser was conjured out of thin air to force a draw, Gallia/Corsairs were told to "suck it up".
There was no mention or offer of a remake, and Gallia almost fully lost the event rather than what was latter announced as a draw.

Now anti-Gallic forces have similar obstacles that aren't even close in magnitude compared to the ones in NL, and suddenly the other side wants preferential treatment. It's nothing but hypocrisy.

It's so rich it could make it to the Forbes 100.

The first wave counted, and the final wave had an additional cruiser. That removed any chance of a Gallic victory when the event had even finished yet.

What i am trying to point out is that:
  • All the issues were taken into consideration after the first wave, and were generally fixed throughout the following waves.
  • The event have ended as a draw, with the proposed outcomes for both sides brought to be live in the server environment.
Also, if either of the sides saw some general incosistency throughout the event - why not point out to these matters rather than just maintaining low profile about it initially and using it latter on the forums to play "victims of circumstances"?

What is the logic behind it?

Peace, being the distant dream it is, comes inevitably, and goes hand in hand with justice.

A lot of the Gallic side started leaving after the first wave in protest because it seemed like they were being ignored by the Staff when such issues were being pointed out (everyone was asking the wave to be redone more or less). For me personally, when I felt like the event was dead jn the water after the first wave I just went to NL with several Gallic snubs and had a snubfight since that was more enjoyable.

The issues weren't fixed because the lag kept affecting the Novas and the consistency of the event was broken when a 4th cruiser spawned in the last wave. All Gallic players can agree with me when I say that throughout the event we were at a big disadvantage because of several aforementioned factors and more. Yeah a draw is cool, but chop off the parts of the event that hampered the fun/balance and it could have been a Gallic victory.

Either way, we had to move on. People in this thread are making a fuss over much less, especially if it wouldn't have changed the outcome.
