Personally i found the whole thing funny. But it's nice to see it die down hopefully. Was silly in the first place.

Personally, I like to just avoid drama in general. There's a reason I'm not in the public Disco Discord channel. For the most part, I'm a pretty Neutral Party in the community. I like things that leave all parties involved satisfied, or at least content. I've been sorta steepling my fingers over this whole recent situation, wondering "Why do people on the internet do the things they do?"

I don't really see a reason not to stick around. As long as the server isn't permanently offline, I'm staying. It's an odd-ball community, sure - But it's still the best RP environment I've ever been a part of, not to mention, it's easier for me to RP here than it is in the fantasy setting.

Besides - I've got big plans for my characters! I can't just pull the plug on them now!

By the way.....

Should I use this for my new avatar?

I remember within the first few months I played there was a week long rollback. I had just bought my first capship (Sagarmantha) after a week of grinding (only had a couple hrs a day back then) Didn't I totally log to find it all never happened? I did. And then...I did it all over again.

Since then there have been a bunch of DDOS's and crashes. The server was down for a few weeks.a few years ago. All of these things over time were the kicks that shook a lot of the old playerbase loose. In the big forum loss I lost months of forum posts of really good rp.

So far things have held together pretty good despite all thats been going on. 2 days is pretty easy going compared to what we've endured in previous years. It sucks that its over a power struggle, but this one seemed to have been brewing for years. I'm also a player that likes to avoid drama with other players, and the admins/devs, but I also won't hide my opinions either. There's no point in getting angry at individuals, we're all here because we love freelancer. Let your principles come out via your gameplay and roleplay. As a player sometimes thats all you can do.

Personally, I believe Sirius (the server) is a special 'place', and its another battlefield in the real war of good vs evil. Great powers know this place. It wound up in a bigger spotlight than we ever thought. All these mishaps, attacks, stuggles, are all because there is a malevolent force that wants to ruin this place. But that is because its such a great game&mod, which like many games from this era, will be considered part of the pioneering efforts (simulations) in the beginnings of our real future in space . No matter what happens its up to the players to keep it alive for many reasons. So, from what I've seen, I'm convinced things will bounce back if we hang in there.

I'd never dream of it. I'm hoping they make GM achievable by pulling a sword out of a stone or something. Besides this place is like the nexus from star trek generations...Once you're here there's always a version of us stuck here forever.

If Discovery is what you're into and you've got some reason to stay, then there's no reason to bounce. It's not going anywhere, no one's dead and people still like to play. Just don't let it get to you.

To be honest, I am surprised how many people are surprised that the gaming community is a group of people like every other and thus suffer from the same problems and flaws like any human society in general. I mean why would you expect that the gaming community is in any way better than any other community consisting of humans, or that it should be able to solve problems in a more civilized or cooperative way. There will be always people who make mistakes and even those who act badly on purpose for this or that reason. It´s frustrating but it won´t be any different ever, because you know, most of the time mankind´s biggest problem and biggest threat are people. Especially when it´s about power, even the pixel one.

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.
