GMG security officers are to protect and defend Gas Miner Naha along with the gas miners in Sector E-3. You engage pirates only located on the tradelanes. Traders that travel offlanes into the debris field and call for assistance is none of our concern. Rheinland vessels however are our concern if they are not authorized to be within the system.

As part of my duties, I am drafting a set of military guidelines to help pilots in the field to determine what craft they should deploy.
As more pilots enter the Guild, the pool of available ships will grow. This document is designed to reflect a range of ship deployments that will provide squadrons with flexibility and firepower - without unduly straining our resources. Certain squadron configurations are based on those of the major houses.
1) Defence Command Designation = GANK. Defence of GMG space.
2) Escort Command Designation = KAPPA. Escort of traders, and assault missions outside GMG space.
3) Assault Command Designation = By order of the GMG Board, an assault group is formed from all of the GMG squadrons for special missions.
[Number below denotes number of pilots, fighters can be substituted for any number of craft]
[Note that there is no limit to the number of fighters one can field, but fighter squadrons should try to have a mix of torpedo and CD weaponry]
1 = 1xBomber
2 = 1xFighter, 1xBomber
3 = 2xFighter, 1XBomber OR 2xFighter, 1xGB
4 = 2xFighter, 2xBomber
5 = 2xFighter, 3xBomber OR 2xFighter, 2xBomber, 1xGB OR 1xCruiser, 2xGB, 2xFighter
6+ Combination of 1-5
Deployment of battleships is at the sole discretion of the CEO. As security advisor I would recommend an escort of at least two Destroyers, two gunboats and 2+ fighters.
This is to say that battleship deployment should be at the head of a Main Assault Group only.
I am calling for volunteers to form two Gunboat class ships for the GANK, as well as two bombers. This will complete the basic battlegroup for GANK.
I understand that Kappa squad has a number of bombers in the works. To make a fourth bomber - I shall put myself up for it.
A question for the Board - is the Exodus slated to be the 'flagship' for Kappa Squadron? Or is it solely an escort for the Exodus (under direct command of the Board)?
I would suggest that the Exodus would make an ideal flagship for Kappa squad. If this is the case, a second gunboat can be commissioned for Kappa.
This brings both squadrons into line with the previous posting. Both squadrons would have a Cruiser class vessel as the flagship, with two gunboats, at least two bombers and an open number of fighters.
The Xcalibur can then requisition craft from both squadrons as required.
Again I stress that not all capital ships need be deployed - a waste of GMG resources. Ships should be deployed according to the method outlined above.
That is your choice pilot. I do hope you will see your way to piloting a GANK fighter, in the interest of 'cross pollinating' our squadrons.
I am charged with commissioning vessels for the fleet, and appointing pilots to them. I am quite happy to 'volunteer' people if they are not willing to put their names forward.
