If Wesker and two more of his wingmen would focus all three on one, they'd score much more kills. But they didn't. They fair-dueled and were killing us much slower that way. They left large space for both-sided fun and KUDOS.

Ofc, solaris GB was a big pain. Never close to caps, impossible to trap. He was a pro. A pro cancer Big Grin But KUDOS for job done!

Also kudos to GMs that solved everything that had to be solved and all messages and instruction were clear and on time.

Achieving victory conditions for the event not being the same thing as being the force who survived the battle.

So the GRN has spent a significant amount of material in which it did finally defeat the Oblique, but no, not enough to hold the system.

Surely then the Oblique could just survive. That doesn't necessarily have to translate into them taking control over the system.

The Oblique being destroyed AND Gallia abandoning the system after an event victory is just stupid. It makes the Gallic participation in this event seem pointless.

Well they stopped the potential Council gains, and the Council side stemmed Gallic military gains. The point of participating was to at least block your enemy from an easy win at the very least. The secondary victory is a bonus for the Gallic side.

Wars go on. After a short time, both sides can regroup and challenge again in the near future. Why not? If you can't gain a decisive victory, you can at least stop your enemy from geting one. Sometimes in war that's all you can hope for at times. And the Gallic side did get lucky that the battle was going on much closer to their respawn point. They had the 'high ground' in that regards.

All in all a good event though, lots of good action! Next time though the ships should have to follow a set route and there should be a time limit on how long the titans have to stay at the front (cuz if you think about it if they have to stay in battle its just a matter of time before they get destroyed anyways which is why both went down), the point should be to try to take out the other ship before it can withdaw/move on to its objective.

Can't you see the silliness in defending an objective that gets blown up anyway though? I don't see why the Sisteron can't be voided and the Oblique serves that role in the victory conditions instead.

Yeah it seemed like both ships were unquestionably going to wind up destroyed because they had to sit out in the same zone. I never could tell if the ships were supposed to be following a path or going somewhere. If they just sit out in the battle zone though, there is no chance to save your ship. There has to be a line drawn where you can pull your ship out. If the Gallic side took out Oblique, that's when Arles should have been able to pull back.

I was going to suggest for next time we throw in a base, and one side be defender vs offender. Each Titan would be like a 'General' unit, or flagship giving their side abilities. The offenders attack the base, the defenders defend. The base being destroyed or holding out becomes the primary objective. Titan's become secondary. If you can kill the other side's flagship, their respawn limit goes back into effect. Also once the other's flagship is destroyed, the remaining Titan can return to base to avoid inevitable destruction. The same could go for the defenders, once the base is gone, it can return to try to save itself (this would also end their infinite respawns pretty much ending in withdrawl, but partial stalemate). Then a kill counter can come in for a 3rd objective.

So for example, say an offensive team succeeds in destroying a base, the defenders still have a chance to destroy the offenders flagship, and vice versa, or they can pull back to avoid further loss.

This also sets it up so that if an attacking fleet can pull off sinking the defender's flagship, they significanly increase the ease of destroying the base. That also means that they no longer need their general on the field to give them their respawn advantage, and can pull back to safety finally. The flagships would only have to be in the battle zone until the base is destroyed.

Obviously the defenders would try to take out the attacking flagship, but also not leave their own to be too exposed. At the same time, both sides may just keep their flagships well behind the frontline and let the fleets duke it out over the base, weighing their options to keep their flagship on the field for further goals, or cut their losses before losing too much. Many possibilities!

I've talked about things with Justin on Discord and a few misconceptions have been cleared up, so it's all hunky dory now.
