That, and I have said it before, is wirting faction determinations into server rules. The guild is in Alaska fighting Nomad and Order ships. There is little or no justification for making it unlawful in the i.d.. By all means if the LSF want to start claiming systems for themselves let them do it with ships and not words.

I wouldnt be at all opposed to bounty hunter NPC's being removed from alaska, and omicron minor even (outside of missions of course).

BHG NPC's are just plain annoying.

You cant have everything; where would you put it? Theyre there; live with it. You need more than personal annoyance to justify that kind of change.

It is because none of the Houses want Bounty Hunters in their space, period.
Or at the very least they expect BH to take the long way around via Unknown.
Bounty Hunters are being pushed out of the Core space towards the outer fringes.

We are on excellent terms with the authorities in Bretonia and Liberty; not so much Kusari; and there are no real authorities present in Rheinland.

I'm seeing a lot of people telling BHers what our RP should be but with a distinct note of bias. If the most positive thing you can suggest is eliminating the faction or restricting it to the point of non-playability, well who will annoy you to that degree next?

Ive been trying to make concessions to things like zoi and so forth for the Agency; we're growing, gradually. This negative stuff is discouraging and pretty unconstructive.

Kudos to the LPI for the bounty contract they established just for the guild; that is the way forward imho.

Some of the hunters were criminals, but an amnesty is an amnesty and if you dont give people a second chance you are a heartless s.o.b.

Bianca Chevalier was an orphan who's escape pod was picked up during a long term delivery mission. She's a little rough around the edges but she manages to shape up and find her way onto an already active ship dedicated bounties and paid security of nearby house systems from capital ships.

Ok, so BH are to be removed from Alaska, and Minor.
Only 1 way to justify that have the role of BH changed to where they are not hostile with the Order and BH also no longer seek out Nomads. Seems rather silly to be fighting against the Order while at the same time fighting side by side with them against the Nomads. Oh, all the while being forced to take the long way around so that BH dont witness some outdated technology in Alaska.

So why are Bounty Hunters fighting the Order? Seems that after the Prototype was stolen it became Liberty's problem. The only way that BH would get involved was if there was a really big contract involved.
So currently Order can fly straight into Alaska with no resistance, but BH have to travel quite a way around to combat Order, just to what....Protect Liberty? I really must have missed something to tie all this together because so far it sounds really half thought out. Liberty wants BH to attack Order but Liberty interferes with BH getting to the Order. :crazy:

Damn raekur you haven't read any BHG stuff have you? The Guild Core has gone to war with the order, not for cash, but for the Orders secret technologies. It's a genuine war. BHG hate the Order.

Raekur I'd suggest you read all the BHG rumours and infocards, the BHG are ex-criminals which is why they are hated by the criminal organisations. Not every BHG is an ex-con, but that's the generalistion. The reason they are trusted is becasue none of the criminals would trust you once you left the criminal group. As a BHG you've got nowhere else to turn, if you return to the law they'll arrest you for your crimes, if you try to return to the criminals they'll slit your throat and push you out an airlock, the Guild offers immunity from both those things. It makes damn good use of the stuff that these ex-cons know, like the location of jumpholes and the location of bases, it's why the BHG NPCs can fly around the bases, you never see a Navy patrol around Buffalo, but BHGs assault it all the time.

If a ex-con wanted to have a change of heart you know where he would wind up, behind a DESK for at least 2 to 3 years.

Info cards and rumors are one thing, if they are created by someone who is clueless and just wants to write something up it still does not make it "reality". My position is based on what happends in the game and on the forum. Those rank a bit higher then some outdated infocard.

While I think a few things suggested here will balance out things. I also think there are a lot of biased actions being taken against all BH iders just because of barely affiliated cap whores.

You know, this topic started off with some ideas to reduce 'capwhoring' and other things. Now all of that has been thrown away and people are argueing over bias against the BH?

The BH being in Alaska could make sense IF the Liberty government really wanted some heavier guns in there but didn't want to get all the attention of bringing a few dreadnaughts in. Of course the BH's involved couldn't say anything or the entire organisation would be clamped down on by Liberty.
Other than it doesn't really make sense.

BH has a large ZoI, basically anywhere where there are criminals. Which is exactly how it should be. Unless of course you want to make the BH into an actual house type faction where they have borders etc. May just be me but I figured that it didn't really matter if the bounty was in Kusari or in Rheinland, just how hard it would be to take on. They are factionalised Mercenaries working for the law.

Maybe we could get back to what the topic originally was about?

ahh - firstly... why are we discussing the same thing over and over - again?

secondly...

when i check the serverlist - i hardly ever see too many battleships. - yesterday evening - there were an average of around 3 - 5 battleships out of 100 - 140 players there. ( 1 adv. battlestar, 2 BHG battleships and 2 others i cannot remember ) - there were quite some cruisers there, yes ( and a few BC - 4 BHG battlecruiser, 1 in kappa, 1 in o-49, 1 in o-15 and one in new berlin, all non factionized - 1 HF liberty battlecruiser and another one somewhere ).. by far the most destroyers ( out of the capships ) - most of them outcast destroyers - and the second most used ship was the corsair gunboat.

yesterday i was thinking of making regular screenshots of the serverlist each day - to show that its much ado about nothing whenever such a thread pops up. - most of the time, we do not have too many capital ships up. - half the server was fighter, another huge part of the server was transports. - only like 30% were gunboats or heavier. - thats not a bad ratio.

of course this changes from daytimes to daytimes.

playerfaction is no roleplay approval. it is just a bunch of players with a tag and an "ambition" to take the roleplay to another level - or at least the leaders have tha ambition. - *usually* that means that the playerfactions have a more - lets say... consistent roleplay, but sometimes, there is hardly a difference between a faction member and a so called "independent" ( stupid term, as someone who joined a NPC faction is not independent, - he is bound to a faction, but not in a playerfaction, thats all ) - often only when in a group with others of the playerfaction, the playerfaction players really differ from lone npc faction members much.

or in short, - they have no authorities over others - other than what their roleplay suggests. and the idea of a police of approval has been shot down.

currently i wonder why you come up with such hardcore demands to limit the players freedom more. - are you experiencing bad roleplay? is that bad roleplay directly linked to warships? or are you getting acceptable roleplay by playerfactions, while you only get disappointing roleplay from non playerfactionized players?

i m really at a loss, the RP i experienced lately around o-delta ( one of the systems with a lot of capital ships ) was mostly OK. - ppl acted mostly according to the position they represent.
