Gunshots suddenly ring out from inside the building, and radios started screeching orders from otherwise calm commanders, But only after a minute did things begin to drop silent. As commanders started to ask in for reports on the fire teams that went inside, there were no responses... Even the news teams were silent as the commanders stormed off to question what just happened while calling in for reinforcements.

"It-- it appears that Mr Enfield has resisted and our fire teams have had no choice but to execu--" "You! Stay the fuck there!" "Oh god, its him!" Enfield came out the front door of the complex with a barrel pointing at the camera along with quite an army of plain clothed yet armoured up agents right behind him brandishing a substantial array of armaments. But the gunfire didn't stop as any military soldier who thought about bringing up their weapon went as down just as fast as the agents pulled their triggers. "Oberst, get on your knees... Lady, piss off. Camera man, stay put!" He took up a position right in front of the camera while he forced the Oberst down on his knees, disarming him in the process. "Z... Get the news van, tap us in."


"We've locked in the stream... They won't cut us off." "Okay..." Enfield attempted the wipe the sweat of his face with the back of his hand and catch his breath before packing his weapon away and regaining his composure to address the biggest speech he's probably ever done. "You see this...?" He points to the commander and dead soldiers behind him. "This is what happens when the Military and Corporations start to pull in their monopoly on more than just their own markets, they want the government, they want you and your blood to throw away without your choice. Then let me give you a choice... Resist. While we resist with arms and violence, I ask you to resist with your voice. The imperium is the real traitor here, the traitors of your Von Rohe day. We worked to protect the citizens from dangers they couldn't fathom, our lives on lines that almost feel impossible... We knew what we were to become even if we weren't to get any fame, but it seems the Military commanders are too busy chasing stripes, medals and promotions to even consider it." To choose us as your next target? Ones that fought along side you? The worst choice you could ever make, to fight shadows, shadows made to protect and fight with you? "And for the soldiers that faithfully fight for a Republic, you still can--" A motorbike pulled up right behind him, Enfield swatted the commander in the back of the head, sending him to the ground. "Twenty lives on Oberst Olkermann... How many more is he going to send comfortably to die for his fame? Prick--" Enfield mounted the drivers position on that bike and strapped on a helmet on before pointing his sidearm at the camera, even before the entire gunshot was heard, the entire stream halted itself.

The news stream returns to a shocked and gobsmacked anchor team who are struggling to even put formed words out of their mouths as they attempt to listen in on their earpiece for information... Even to then they couldn't say much. "W-we apologize for this broadcast error... C-commercials, now!"

The broadcast suddenly cuts off. Someone high up has made the call to cut the live broadcast. There were more important matters to attend to than the shocked reactions of a few neural net pundits, gasping for familiar rhetoric as the walls closed in around them. Nothing would ever be the same again.

The man on the screen is no-one else but the former shadow chancellor of the Imperial Party, Linus Velten Tyres Augusta, Von-Claussen. Despite his parentage, his tastes in dress and the trappings of wealth, Claussen had always presented himself as a man of the people. He believed himself compelled to do so - a familial obligation to public service, that occupied a position in the man's mind between guilt, a sense of judiciousness, auspiciousness, and rage. Rage at a system that had made men like him. Instances of causes intermeshing with historical need, that had crafted moments like this one, to be capitalised upon. Moments built upon the backs of the common men, no more or less worthy than himself, or Enfield, or anyone in Sirius, that happened to be afforded the opportunity to move pieces on the chessboard.

Linus was wearing the trappings of the Imperial Lord High Constable that had gone unworn since it was first taken off, several hundred years ago. On his left, and his right, at all angles, were officers of the special response unit of the Rheinland police. Some were armed with nonregulation rifles - military gear, instead of their conventional equipment. Armour was worn, and uniforms frayed. In the distance, the sound of sirens whorls through the New Berlin night, as news shuttles and spacecraft fill the sky, contesting airspace with cordons of police and navy vessels. A crackle of gunfire sets the soldiers' nerves afray, jolting Linus slightly, before the "all clear" is shouted in rasping, grim tones of the servicemen around him.
A broadcast drone stabilises in front of the procession, as VonClaussen, walking up the steps of the Vacant bundestag, locks the camera in the eye.

A news editor would have cut back to the bodies. Emphasis, narrative. Claussen refused to do so. His voice cracks.

You can see the public servant's teeth. His knuckles are shaking around him, though he barely feels the touch of the New Berlin snowfall, blending with the ash.
