What I'd love is to colonize the Canadian systems slightly, then leave them as Independent systems, like Cortez. Kinda like a mini house, under no ones direct control, but also allied to say Bretonia and Liberty.

I think its imminently reasonable for people coming from the United states to name uninhabited systems above them after Canadian regions.

Names do not make control, and earth history or politics would mean very little to the colonists.

People name systems after where they're from, that's how it works. It's not arbitrary.

What people are objecting to is the notion that Canadians would be part of Liberty. And in any case, Earth politics meaning little? For centuries, we had a situation nearly identical to pre-1920's Ireland in Bretonia.

I'd have to say...yes.
Definitely.

And to defend the US, i'd say that i'd like us to be some crazy custom (smelly) converse high-tops.
We look awesome but are semi-uncomfortable and don't last very long in every day life. Yea!
