Mariko never found much time to travel back to the city she was born at, raised at and lived until she had left for Liberty, exploring the world for a few years before finally settling down as a part of the Hogosha Association.
One of the odd reasons why she appeared back at Sakurajima City were the elections of 827 A.S., unlike last time, she was no longer driven by sheer logic but also sympathizing feelings to the great picture the organization she joined several years ago, the Hogosha.
While strange rumors reached her ears about this man, she was hopeful in regards of the change he could bring... the ability to gain influence and flee the crumbling power structures of the Association, just to join the Alliance in a high, influential position. She feared this idea was naive but it was too late to change her mind. She was already in the cabin! So she settled on voting for the Majima Party, hoping for the best for herself to come out of this decision.

Meanwhile on Planet New Tokyo, Government District.

For Sanae, the election period was just taking a one time detour to the voting cabins, work had to continue just as usual, despite everyone anticipating the election results. She settled on handling this task in the early morning hours, when even the usual crowded Government buildings were relatively empty. To her luck, she didn't have it far, as the nearest voting cabin was established within the Health Ministry's lowest level for the exclusive usage of all Ministry workers.
Clearly everyone knew which party she would vote for, just minutes later the expectations were met as she returned to her office, leaving her vote for the Honshū Unity Party behind.

The former Minister in charge of Post-Imperial reconciliation, Noboru Higuchi, celebrated by the media as one of the 'heroes' who re-united Kusari, was on his way to give his vote too. Despite his work having been so successful, the reunification brought him no other Minister seat, nor did he gain much appreciation after the first months. Only the party he had joined briefly before they announced their entry into the Republic's first elections, stood at his side and kept him on the payroll as an advisor to the higher echelons of the party. Naturally, he would vote for the party he trusts, the party who enabled him the chance to re-unite Kusari.
With a proud look, he marked the Honshū Unity Party, hoping to watch the Party fortify their position.

Even though she was working 6 days a Week in this Hogosha Bar. even though she now Lived between the Stars she Ceept herself Informed over the Political Partys that are Running for the Government Offices. and the Ideals of only One Party seemed her Honest Enough to Come here today, so she Stepped into the Voting Boot and made her Vote for the Honshū Unity Party - 平和. after that, she Left the Complex on the Fastest Way to Visit the Grave of her Mother before the Stars called her Again

Kasumi Hikamaru Planet Junyo Shikamaru Platform

It was way to Long since Kasumi was the Last time at Home, as she Landed on her Home Platform her whole Family awaited her. her Mother Huge her for a Full Minute Before she Looked at her Daughter. Amongst the masses of Kusarians flocking to the voting stations, Kaori Yamamoto had arrived early, patiently waiting for her turn. Despite a certain degree of notoriety as one of the highest ranking officers of the former Exiles still in service under the newly reunified nation her presence did not draw all that much attention to it. Unlike with high profile politicians or other public figures, her fame was somewhat removed from the general public; her influence restricted to niches within the Naval Forces and certain political movements. But it was these niche audiences most of her concern was addressed at.

The men and women Yamamoto had fought for and with were confronted with a mixed welcome when they were finally allowed to return home. An uncertain future for a whole generation of warriors who had given significant portions of their life to return to a house that had grown apart from them. Skepticism and distrust shown by both sides. And, both inside the military and within the realm of politics, a continued struggle between exile-imperial and republican elements to gain an upper hand; a struggle where the former had to be ever careful not to lose its voice against a majority who had grown accustomed to these new, potentially dangerous ideals of a liberal democracy - one birthed out of betrayal nonetheless.

Yamamoto, who actually had stepped into the booth for the first time in her life, kept exactly these issues in mind as she gave her options a final rundown. Kusari, while it could perhaps profit from some of the ideas introduced, needed to always keep in mind where it came from; what made a nation last and flourish for eight centuries. It needed security after a decade in which little was secure. It needed to find back to a strong national identity - optimally one that was favourable toward her particular minority, and based around a strong, competent and modern military, ready to be called upon in unsteady times like these. Concluding all of this, the Rear Admiral had no doubts that her vote was best placed with the Kusari Sunrise Party.

It felt like ages since Shimoe Mizuki last accessed the government citizen terminals, for the purpose of the elections. It's been a few years since the last one, as expected, but the political landscape of Kusari had changed a lot since the last ones.

She had reviewed some party policies in the campaign, and watched with mild interest some of the organized debates and sponsored pieces about the contemporary issues in economics and society, but she was sure that in the end, what really matter was to use the rights given to the citizen to make their voice heard, and avoid leading Kusari into yet another period of dictatorship or dominant control by a small group.

After presenting her credentials to the terminal, she glanced at the list of candidates for her district, and selected the list of the Social Democratic Party of Kusari to hopefully carry her voice and of many others to the governance of the House of Kusari.

Elsewhere, in the Shikoku system, on Planet Junyo Hosokawa ward Civic Hall, a sizeable group appeared in the lobby. Some burly men in suits surrounded an old man in old fashioned clothes. The Fisherman, as we was mostly known, had come from a meeting with the sponsors of the large Shikoku based company, and had been for the past days trying to evaluate how would these elections affect the company performance, as well as the other business they were involved with. He had issued some recommendations to his workers, but cautioned that each and everyone of them were responsible for deciding their own vote in the end.

Reviewing the terminal, he was distraught at the political agendas some of these parties revealed. He had heard about a new party run by one of the younger Hogosha bosses, but it seemed like a mob group trying haphazardly to participate in grown man works. Extremely green, he concluded.
He decided to go for the old reliable, and submitted his vote for the Sunrise Party.

Felling that his purpose in the hall was done, he signalled his men that they were returning to the transport. He was discussing with his director Hebishima about the details for the project meeting for the afternoon. Hebishima commented nothing about the elections since the day before, including his vote for the Yūkōkai Re-emergence Society earlier on the week.

Citizen Name: Neiji Kamura

Neiji spent most of her day off mucking around in their New Tokyo apartment, flicking through different holo-stations looking for entertainment, returning to their personal computer to look through the NeuroNet to find something to do. Alas, it was to be one of those days. Even playing with the cats only kept her attention for so long. If it was not for listening in at the right time, Neiji would have never been reminded about the elections; wanting something to do, she explored the net for who best to vote for.

After researching the parties, a little, Neiji kicked open her apartment door and marched straight on out. Storming through the building to the nearest polling station, with an excessive use of energy to do so, they neared the polling station coordinators. With charm to die for, excellent use of language, and also little of telling them her name, she was permitted entry to a booth. Knowing exactly who she wanted to vote for, probably the absolute worst party, they marked their vote for Majima's Party.

Citizen Name: Hattori Masanari

The election, a great tradition of a functioning democracy. Something that all Kusari Citizens should be proud being a part of. Hattori, was no different.
Viewing the election as a way to have his say, without upsetting the discipline he instilled upon himself in life, he gladly went fourth to leave his mark.

At the polling station he weighed up one more time, the considerations he held close. But one stuck out like a sore thumb. Corruption. Many of the parties he pondered were too afraid to tackle the might corporations, and he himself saw how they could avoid justice on Honshu. Two parties stuck out in his mind, but he could only vote for one. He choose to err on the side of potential 'measured aggression' and finally voted for Yūkōkai - Re-emergence Society

After a ten hours shift leading a patrol in the Sigma cluster, Sakamoto Ryoma headed to the closest bureau from Misawa spaceport to do his duty as a citizen. Naturally, his vote would be for the Social Democratic Party of Kusari.

Gamo Ujisato's father told him to vote Kusari Sunrise party. Paternal inquiries had to be respected.

Preceded by his bodyguards, Sanada Chozaburo headed to New Tokyo's Imperial district main bureau, where he quickly proceeded with his duty, as expected from someone of his rank, even though he had little consideration for this little puppet show. With reluctance, he voted for Kusari Justice Party, despite his contempt for the founders of this... "Party".
People didn't know their place anymore in these modern times.

Sanada Fuyuko did non consider this voting system to be important or even relevant to her. As a traditional woman belonging to the higher echelons of Kusari society, she was well aware it wasn't her role to participate to such an initiative.
Fuyuko had to take care of her two children anyway. A difficult enough task!

Makita Mitsurin voted for Kusari Sunrise Party, naturally! The best party!

Kobayakawa Yuji was debating whether he should send a perfumed letter to Yamamoto when he remembered there was this voting thing to take care of. Well. The letter could wait, probably.
Due to his republican inspirations, Yuji voted for Honshū Unity Party.

The woman known as 'Kiyohime' voted for Kusari Sunrise party.

'Harutsuki' forgot about the vote. She was too busy playing holo games on her single week off since.. Well. When was the last time, actually?

Ai Nakashima, former bounty hunter and currently in employment of Kishiro. It would be her first elections, having had decided to leave her home - then original Kusari Empire - behind to experience freedom at last. Sitting in her planetside office on Honshu after the hours, she reviewed political views of all registered parties competing to win hearts and minds of entire population. Conscription? Capital punishment? Enforcers being jury, judge and executioner? What place and time do they think we live in? We are not regressed backwater kingdom anymore. Unity party was much more promising, even if she herself had reservations against being tied to Samura too much. So called Justice Party, the very concept of calling everyone who is not us, "Gaijin" is what held us back for generations. Majima - what? How did he managed to get on the list? Social Democrats had very sound goals though which will never be accepted by majority of Kusari. Too far fetching. Yukokai, they must had been new on the block. Not bad, not bad if it weren't for fact they would bring Kusari society and culture as a whole to be just what Empire used to be, just under different management.

Droplets of rain assaulted the big panoramic window in her room. She had decided to vote strategically, though it was not an easy choice. Only Honshu Unity Party was able to win against the troglodytes from Sunrise. She reached out to her wardrobe looking for adequate attire to endure storming elements of this water planet. She had neglected her duty as daughter of Kusari too long.

For Ishikawa Hideaki, the matter of voting had become an unpleasant obligation. Spending any substantial amount of time near the political and military decision making in this nation thoroughly convinced him that the charade known as democracy here was entirely irrelevant. The return of the emperor had additionally shattered any illlusion of hope this man may have had for the future of Kusari.

Nonetheless, for a man of his station it was expected and important to be seen making the way to the poll booth. After all, if the military does not hold the institutions of the state in high regard, some might begin wondering about their feelings towards the government in general.
For Ishikawa, the choice was simple and easy. Ineffectual as it may be, he would still vote for that at least pretended to care about the people, the Social Democratic Party of Kusari.
