The concept of let's say "Conflict" or "War" zone is a nice thing.
However, as it was already mentioned before:
Please make at least 2, or better 3 alternative systems for high/medium missions.
Just for example Outcast's mission map in 4.85.
Omicron Eta- primary war zone between OCs and Sairs. High end missions involving Osirises.
Omicron Alpha. - "Sandbox" with missions against BHGs fighters/Dessies. Overlaps to Omicron 81 (Where Genoa base is).
So if you are killed in Eta in PvP, you can still keep doing some stuff in Alpha/O 81.
Also, might be a bit off topic, but can trading missions being implemented in some way or another.
So I spent all of my money (I had like 15m left over lmao) on a cap4 cruiser to do missions. I took this approach as a normal player, not a tryhard. I took whatever highest missions were offered without resetting the board, I did them at a major base in house space, and I did them back to back (I'm subtracting an hour for setup/an RP encounter I had). Most of my missions were against gunboats, but I had 3 against high level fighters and 2 against cruisers (both failed, but one mission I killed a cruiser before dying)
In 2 hours (3 before the subtractions) I made 95 million credits. A real far cry from what I'd get from ore trading. If I minmaxed I'm sure I could have squeezed out some more, but I think it's best to approach this comparison under the 'typical player' idea.

Very good point. A lone, maybe under-equipped player won't get the maximum money (but maybe more fun) out of the missions than a well-equipped, well versed player who is maybe even in a team, who logs and relogs to streamline his maximum money output from each mission.
There is a similar reason the ore-trading isn't overpowered. If you are trying to buy at an empty POB you can switch into your miner first to make 8-10 mining runs before you can fill your 5k transport. This way the trade doesn't net 100 mio Cr/hour.

That stupidity should be solved differently.
As for the topic itself, last time missions were buffed it was 200+ mil/hour which was ridiculous. Now... I wouldn't say they're overpowered. That's my personal opinion.

I don't think that mission runners in Omicron Delta are there because trading is less profitable. I think they are there because it's place where they can easily team up or pick up battleship-level missions in the first place.
I bet they will be there even if missions were like 20% nerfed.

No, because it is fun. Join in, try to get into a group and get to know each other.
In trading, you dont have that opportunity.
We share each other's lives, happiness, sadness and you can really bond together, because all you do is pewpew nomads, you can have a nice chilling experience, chatting and enjoying the game together opposed to trading where you can absolutely go around with your friends, but making new ones? Doubt
Most of the players dont even care about forums nor discord, so its nice to meet up ingame, have a chat, and see them there again and be happy.
how about instead of trying to make the blandest, most boring aspects of Discovery the 'best' grey soup there is like you usually do, Karst;
Why not make the rest of the money makers better?
Stop trying to make trading, of all things, the best way to make money no matter what, while also making a relatively paltry income that requires working it like a part time job for a result. There's no bottlenecks, there's not enough of a population. People linger in the same system for a very long time doing missions, and are easier to run into.
Imagine saying power trading should be the strongest way to make money. It's boring, it's bland, it's the same old same old over and over with little challenge and even less interaction. Missions are active, require some effort put forth by the players, and can always be tweaked and made harder, either with different loadouts or more armor. Trading so far has nothing besides listening to your choice of music player and youtube between Go-Tos and Docks.

How tone deaf are you?
Well shouldn't be trading more profitable because it's boring so you encourage people doing it? Especially for pirating lack of traders sucks, patrolling on lawfuls etc. and also for general activity outside of mission areas traders generate.
And don't even get me started on how useless smuggling is now...
Missions are more fun, I'd still run them if the profits were cut by 20% almost the same and I assume that'd be the case for a lot of other people

Honestly. I do find it funny how it would be at this point, trying to encourage people to be bored and afk trade.
But what can we do currently? Ores are the best thing to trade, and you're currently railroaded heavily with it. I mean I pointed out some of the issues in a previous post. However this doesn't address the boring nature of trading in general, I mean it may allow some people to enjoy it more. But ultimately, trading has minimal input unless you're pirated.
