Imagine nobody playing the generic unlawful anymore, because for pvp we have international wars, for pve we have navies with the greatest warships for mission grinding, piracy sucks monkey balls, and smuggling is taken over by lawful corporations too, because they can field 5kers while unlawfuls can't. Inb4 the Queen's finest delivering Cardamine to Manhattan under Bowex colors...

We already had IND with 5kers and rephacked hostile to Nomads and Hackers only... So I doubt there is room for more OP combos.

Who is even voting no in this poll? There is no way six of you thought that server rules prohibit you from smuggling on lawful IDs. I don't recall ever once in my entire time on Discovery anyone being confused by this.

Of course you can smuggle on lawful IDs. Everyone knows this.

What consequences
when's the last time a lawful trader was FR5d Big Grin
I mean Champ has a point why would you smuggle on unlawful for money that can't dock on high sell point bases and has smaller transports, when you can just do it on a corp 5k

IF anyone actually smuggled ever for money it'd make sense to look into it

i dont think i've ever heard staff explicitly say it like this (then again, maybe it was never necessary) but i've long known about it ooRPly just from watching the comm channel and occasionally scanning passing corp traders.

i always thought it was one of those things that everyone knows can be done but is rarely openly mentioned.

Smuggling needs a complete overhaul, but I never actually considered smuggling banned by ID. Corps can smuggle just fine, it's just not very inRP except if done occasionally or just in smaller quantities. Just like how it works IRL.

What should be done is to discourage smuggling by corps either by means of incentives (hello Smuggler ID bonuses) or plainly making it a bit more bothersome to smuggle with corp IDs (HINT: encourage smuggling in ships the corps rarely use i.e. not 5kers).

I don't belive smuggling even just sticks to Illegal trade like Cardamine, Artefacts etc!

Even lawful trading can be deemed smuggling if your intent and purposes is to trade your product to an unlawful base that stands against House laws and oppose the rule of that government or monarchy!

Of course the other side of being "overpowered" was having to pay hundreds of millions in fines when they got caught: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid1170023 . Of course I expect modern Liberty Law to come down just as hard on any other faction like this. Like Ageira, for example? Not sure what you'd smuggle though.

Anyway I always did wonder about that line in corporate IDs about no unlawful actions and smuggling, but I chose to ignore smuggling as a case because everyone else did. Besides that, if it was the case, for example OSC ID would have serious conflicts with vanilla lore centering around Luxury Liner Hawaii. Even before this clarification, all signals pointed to smuggling not counting as unlawful for rules purposes.

Voted no, since it did require clarification in my mind, I just didn't bother asking and smuggled anyway.
