As someone who has created a new faction somewhat recently, I can say that it is really annoying to have to deal with all the regulations that come with the application.
Not only does it take 3 months to process the request, and let us be real it takes more than that because the votes are almost never on time anyway, on top of the money not being taken on the day/week of the application without pinging GM's at least once, but you also have to wait 1 month before you can even apply for Officialdom when your faction is freshly created.
I understand the reason behind it though. People would just spam Officialdom requests for factions that are created out after someone has had a few too many beers or just lose interest after a short time and you'd end up with yet another dead Official Faction that only logs at the end of every activity check to remain official.
Remove the stupid 1 month timer, lower it to 2 months. 1 month might be too little, but 3 is definitely way too much.
As for the activity check, my opinion is kind of the same. 1 Month might be iffy because there are always situations that happen iRL that prevent you from logging, and I think punishing people for things they might not be able to influence is a bad idea. However, if we were to lower the trial phase for factions that just lost officialdom from 3/2 months to 1 so they can regain it quickly, I'd say the monthly checker is fair
Last words are for fools who have not yet said enough.
Being official nowadays does not give any useful perks while demanding something. The whole thing is not worth it imho. If something is to be done with their activity, something is to be done with overall usefulness of being official
I do think the evaluation process for prospective OF Factions is far too long. It feels like another lifetime when the EFL app was posted.
I understand not wanting people to spam official factions with every idea that pops into their heads, but if its made easier to become an official faction, then it should also be easier to lose it.
Its pretty insane that if a faction goes inactive, it'll take them over half a year to lose their official status.

I'm not really involved in this whole process of a group becoming official, but I'm knowing from other games that new projects are thriving in the beginning and then losing their initial spark and somewhat drying down.
Maybe here 3 months for the process is too long, I'm not knowing much about this here. But I'm thinking that 1 month maybe is not enough. A middle ground of 2 months perhaps?
And when a project was being around before without trying this whole official thing then maybe considering that time already and then shorten down for those the whole process to 1 month?
I'm really liking the idea of activity checks for seeing when some project is not anymore that much taken care of, and they were losing their status. And maybe having a separate process for those again trying?
Just some cents from me.
