While I was searching on YouTube for more space games like Freelancer, I've found X3 : Reunion. The graphics is just awesome, and I saw that you can do almost everything.
Did anybody played it? Can you tell me more about its gameplay, graphics, weapons/ships (equipment) etc.?
i own the game and couldn't ever get past the first mission. it was plagued with problems, for some reason even the best high end PC's had trouble running it. when i played it, it would lag to the point that you couldn't do anything.
that being said, it's been a while since i've tried playing it. so there may be a patch or some sort of fix out there that corrects the problems it had.
but i'm fairly certain you won't be able to play it straight away without patching it or figuring out what needs to be done for it to run smoothly.
i'd love to play the game, so if you do get it to work please post what you did to get it to run properly.
the game shows huge promise if you can get it to run. it's like Freelancer on superhuman serum steroids
I encountered a learning curve like a brick wall...a brick wall with glass on top, and spikes sticking out of it. There were probably bloody archers and guys with boiling oil, too. Couldn't tell.
Point is, it was horrible. Took me 20 minutes to figure out how to move...Never figured out how to land.
It is a great game, had no problems with graphics (except on the last mission-huge laaaag--back than i only had a 6600GT).
I have the GOTY-version of it, with 1,4 patch included. (After the release date, i needed to wait 1 year, till i could buy it in Hungary....for some stupid reason none of the game-stores had it...)
Anyway, the controlls are a bit difficult-compared to FL.
a lot of ships, you can build youre own space stations, fly multiple ships at the same time (acctulay they can be automated traders, guards, etc).
The biggest problem: it has no multiplayer ....... Egosoft..
but it is a fun game, and you will be occupied for a few weeks.
(that reminds me.. i need to try this game with my new 8800GTS:P)
Well, it is not like Freelancer, but I don't understand why you are acusing me. In this sub-forum there are threads about Diablo III (is that similar to Freelancer? WOW !). OK... info about my download deleted. Anyway, mods are pirate too...
I know it is a hard game... If I tell you why I know that, you're going to acuse me again or tell me "We don't care about what you did".
/off topic
Umm, no, they are not. Since the creators of a mod dont ask for money, you can download them for free. So they are Freeware. Not pirate software...
end/
I own the game and it is good fun.But you have to set aside about a week to learn the controls.I've owned it for almost a year now and i still haven't worked it out.Anyway freelancer is more fun (with discovery mod installed of course)
I quite liked the game. Had to remove it due to its size, but i managed to get a fleet of sevral battleships, i believe around 4, with each having about 2 figther/bomber wings ( if im correct, been a while)
Allso had my own stations and all that, was fun:laugh:
Tip. Invest in a trader. Give it distance software to purchase and fly. You take the figther, do whatever you want. Story line, explore, trade, pirate, slave trading, whatever. And whenever the trader lands, you get a message. Go to the traders CP, order it to buy/sell, then make it move!
