I need a screen shot taker, that takes screenshots and either uploads them to a networked drive, or image shack/photobucket account.

I also need it to run discreetly. I think my brother is visiting interesting sites. And using all the bandwidth at 4 in the morning when he should be asleep.

If thats not possible. How else can I check what he is doing on his laptop at that time. Any way to take screen shot, short video, upload history somewhere....or something like that?

Any ideas?

Cheers:cool:

threaten him to put his head into the toilet and flush if he doesn t tell you the truth. - among siblings ... such threats work surprisingly well ( even if everyone knows they are never really executed ) - other than that... have you directly asked him?

also, you can access the internet "history" - unless he was smart enough to erase it ( which is suspicious enough in itself - cause why would he delete the history if not to hide something ).

or you can use the ultimate threat - and tell your parents to have a word with him. -

of course you can go the positive way and tell him that you re his best friend and he can entrust you everything. - bake him a cockie and wiggle information out of him.... hehe.

other than that - you can of course do it sneakily and activate the remove desktop to another computer. that way, you can see clearly what he is doing ( his screen, even his mouse activity - actually you see his screen on yours with all he does )

but if he is smart enough to delte the internet history, he will be smart enough to detect the remote desktop, cause it ll cut your bandwidth by a good portion. - but its sneaky:laugh:

Not sure exactly but I suggest you to check Techsmit SnagIt, it has some scripting ability, perhaps it would be possible to run loop on background taking screens silently. Or you can do it via some macros tools which can run background script and perform any task you can script for them.

Keylogger is annoying when he is playing games all the time...

its always "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssssddddddddddddddddwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

He plays FPS games so W, S, D and A are forward back and strafe buttons....

Jinx, how do you set Remote desktop up. I have always wondered.

Cheers:cool:

i once did it with a friend in swiss - so it worked via internet without any problems - windows comes with the remote desktop - you just have to initiate it ( that means - unlock your computer for a remote access as it is ... of course deactivated by default )

it ll give you an access ID - that the other computer needs in order to get on your desktop. - its all quite easy to install - just follow the instructions in windows. - once its setup, the other computer sees exactly what you have on your screen - as if your screen was connected to his computer ( its actually quite scary ). my friend in swiss was even able to move my mouse ( my mouse movement still has priority - but when i don t move it, he can move my curser and open any program/file ) and .... well, browse through the computer ... in the end, thats what its for.... a remove access is meant to assist someone over a distance. - so if you have a problem with your software - like installation of hardware, someone can install it for you without you doing anything ( but probably inserting the driver disc )

the help screen and the keywork remote desktop is your friend there. - however - while the remove desktop runs, you have a little icon flashing in your taskbar. ( its a safety measure, cause the remote desktop allows the person using it administration rights - so you don t want that person to browse your computer while you don t want him to or while you re not aware of it )

so, setting it up is quite easy - and your brother will not notice a thing - except for a slight drop of bandwidth or a few lost packages. still - its not a nice thing to do - .... speaking to him about it might be ... ah... more honest.

I just tried with my mothers computer...

But I type the user name "user" as what it says on her account, and it says something about an account restriction.
