Karlotta is right about most of things here and that is a sad reality we must accept. And at the same time, it is so easy to be better and just not spit vile hateful comments every time someone is slightly unhappy how things went.

no I never had full moderation powers

nor was I a Discord Moderator. I was a Developer, and I didn't get fired, I left because I had irl work.

Also people can do whatever they want in their private discord, because you know... it's PRIVATE. Public Community Discord is the issue here

This is actually true. I remember when Nyx had moderation powers, and would actively remove messages critiquing her or she would cover friends in instances where people were doing bad things.

Sure start nitpicking. It doesnt change the fact that you are in no way "better" than what mep did there. This is not a defense of mep.

It does change everything, because you're basing stuff off of a private discord where you scrounge up an eternity old quote to argue and cause drama. If you're in my server, it's my house rules. But in a public discord, that serving the community, that's an entirely different matter, because it's a community server.

People are always going to slander away in private discords, you can't police that. But you can at least control the crap that happens on the public server.

Moderators shouldn't be able to diss players, and then immediately mute people for getting called out as hypocrites.
