Freelancer HD Install

Hi. I have had Freelancer since day 1 from a disc. Currently I am on Discovery 4.9.1 I think. I am on Win 11 Home x 64.

I download Freelancer HD and installed it into a fresh folder but after the opening wide screen there is nothing then wont open.

Q: Do I need a virgin copy of freelancer first to use as a location when asked. Will it be compatible with Discovery? Or should I reinstall the original Freelancer, THEN install HD????

Hiya buddy, I had a similar problem a while ago. Turned out I did not enable the Windows Features (step 2)

Windows features as in the video are already running.
Edit: Just ran Discovery 4 whatever one I have. There are some visual changes and the 1928 screen (biggest) Is now so big I have had to tone it down so I can see buttons.

I am still in process of changing machines but am running Freelancer on my notebook with Freelancer HD on it. Seems strange to be back at the beginning after all these years of Discovery.

Q: With the above settings can I overlay again with Discovery or should I go back to original freelancer?

.net framework could possibly not have been present as I just installed the latest ver and it went in just fine

No prob. Its a mod, installed easily over the original BUT its the orginal game
