Almost everyone will agree that Discovery lacks money sinks. What's a better money sink than charging people a somewhat significant premium for literally bypassing the game's travel times? It's exactly what you want: a repeatable, luxury feature you can easily live without. But if you do make use of it, it'll add up over time.

Maybe twenty is a bit much -- and it's easy enough to tweak -- but I also feel like reducing the cost in a game where a ton of players are sitting on billions upon billions of credits is a bad idea.

That's a lot of hypothetical and "maybes" being added up each dev diary. No offence but I am less and less hyped up and more concerned, especially with the weight of the uncertainties, the amount of changes, etc.

Some of us really like change in our games. I'm one of those people. I don't find change concerning nor would I find someone saying "Hey, maybe this one value is going to turn out a bit high or low after a bit and we'll tweak it" discouraging. I'd be more worried if someone was utterly convinced that they somehow hit the perfect balance of values in one go.

This patch has a lot of moving parts and just in terms of PvP I don't really know how the 'meta' will resolve, for example. I think that's fun and exciting. The same can also apply to other systems.

Monitoring and adjusting to community feedback and post-patch game data is what these "maybes" mean. We aren't omniscient, we can't predict perfection from the get-go. Would you rather we feign complete confidence in everything we do only to (inevitably) have to change some things? There are lots of changes and with lots of changes come lots of uncertainties. That's just how things go pretty much anywhere, not just here.

If you mean fighter / freighter only jump holes, yes there's still a few of those about.

Honestly, I would remove them, they are just confusing, screw with my companion etc. Either let stuff dock or don't, simples

To be honest, the range and price changes have dampened my interest in trying out the new patch. Gone are the days of quickly getting into a fun scrap in NY it seems, and I found the old prices to already be expensive. Some players are sitting on billions, but not everyone.

Interesting. Seems having an escort with a JD capable ship will be a viable tactic to flee a fight - if the escort can jump before the pursuer to close off the hole.

Shame about no cargo while jumping and no random jumps anymore, I was hoping we might get some cool new systems for all the explorers out there. Maybe even with some special goodies in them so it's worth organising a small jump capable party.
