The plantation had seen its better days. Tumbleweeds in all their glory blew across fields that grew nothing but dust and weeds. The house itself was small, old, and falling apart. The paint was past peeling as it had all fallen off, as well. Besides the hollow howling of the wind, the only sound was a tired radio playing. A man sat on a rocker on the front porch, radio on a small stand next to him. It was an old relic, perhaps taken from the sleeper ship when the Corsairs had abandoned ship. Still, it played, and it had only one band logged – The Eagles. The man was in his thirties and tired, of life if nothing else. The plantation had been in the familia for generations, and while they had made next to no money, they had always been able to survive. Now, as his parent's died, he knew he couldn't handle it anymore.
Two Titans came in roaring, and landed on the field. He barely looked up. Out jumped a few men, walking over.
“Amigo, we have finished the deal. The plantation is sold, here is what we got.”
He did look up then, looking at the Titans, looking at the group of men. He stood up slowly, then said: “Hermanos, we are plantation hands no longer. Our names are meaningless. Here,” he gestured to the radio, “pick your new name, and cast off the old, as a symbol to starting your new life.” The radio was halfway through Tequilla Sunrise (“It’s a hollow feeling, when it comes down to dealing friends…”), and the man then said, “I will be known as Tequilla Sunrise.”
The radio, running through all the Eagle songs on shuffle, played on while the men said who had the next song. They were poor farmers who planted in rocks no longer. They were Corsairs in the true sense of the word – they were The Eagles.
Allowed weapons: Corsair (Salamancas, del Cids), a max of two (2) codes on each ship, but they must be found within 1 jump of Corsair space. (Allowed codes: Wild Fire, Golden Blade, Diamondback, Thor’s Hammer, Blue Blaze Excalibur [if you are brave enough]). Nomad weapons are not allowed under any circumstances – who knows what they could do?
Diplomacy:
Allied
Corsairs (TBH, OPG, Benitez)
Gaians (NLH)
Farmer’s Alliance (AFA)
Hogasha (look as I might, couldn’t find one)
The Order (Bs)
The history of the Eagles is extremely short, as they are a recent start-up group of Corsair brigands. They pilot only small ships as they perform mostly hit-and-run strikes against trade, preferring to dodge any confrontation with military or police forces. Disdainful of Zoner neutrality being used to hide traders, the Eagles will strike indiscriminately, even against Zoners (when asked, they say they do not care for politics, and say they do not need them).
Zone of Influence:
Key - Red: extremely restricted Yellow: restricted Green: allowed
Omegas: Free to roam most of the Omegas, excepting Omegas 52 and 58. 55 is also recommended as ‘off limits’, but a brave or fool-hardy Eagle has been known to go in to taunt death at the hands of the Wild.
Omicrons: Gamma is our home, but Alpha, Eta, and 85 are recommended as ‘off limits’, the reason being that they do not like engaging in military operations against their distant cousins. However, they are allowed to do so. Theta is free game for pirating, and 91 is our Guard system, which we are free to visit to arm our ships with the best the Corsairs have to offer. Omicrons Iota, 99, 90 Minor, Delta, and Kappa are all restricted, as we fear the Nomads and have no business being there (trade is all but non-existent). Omicron 82 is to be avoided at all cost - the only thing that way is radiation and Phantoms. All other Omicrons not listed are allowed.
Sigmas: Fair game, and Sigma 13 is one of the major trade arteries.
Taus: We have no business being so far from home, completely restricted.
Liberty: Again, no reason to be here, so far from home, as the only friendly ports of call is the Junker bases.
Bretonia: Fair game for pirating in Cambridge and New London, as well as Edinburgh (given our Gaian allies). Dublin is also open for attacking Mollys, though little else. It’s recommended that we avoid Leeds, as it’s a bit far, but not required.
Rheinland: Too much pressure, and only one place to land. All hands are against us here, we are to give it a wide berth.
Kusari: We are neutral to them due to the Kusari/Bretonian war, but we have no reason to go here bar chasing fleeing traders. If you do go here, either have a good reason or dont get caught.
I read through a few faction status posts (most of them, actually) to get a feel for what I should add. If you think we missed something, please speak up. And the CR are hostile for a reason - they have a lot of traders, we pirate traders. We don't have much care for politics, though if people have too much of a problem then we can move 'em to 'neutral'.
Hello? I feel this is being overshadowed by a dozen pinned threads and those feedback threads that are getting so much traffic. Not to sound impatient, but...
For being here only a few days....This is really good.
Too few people add the list of allowed systems, nice touch.
Keep it icy, and watch out for Shadow *evil grin*

Nice, the shiplist is good (cuz the last thing the Corsair needs is more caps), though the diplomacy is a tad shaky. The rest of the Corsairs are friendly with the CR, and pirates being outright hostile to Zoners... And you forgot all the Rheinland pirates (Unioners, LWB, Bundschuh) as well as Nomads/Wilde, all of which should be under hostile, methinks. And nice job of outlining your ZOI.
Impressive, I must say, I'm looking forward to interacting with you guys ingame.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark. Roleplay is dead. Long live Powertraders and PvP I guess.

So much traffic? We have absolutely no traffic heading through the LWB proposal. The last one to make a post was Zapp, who is in the thing already.
A couple notes:
Please include the LWB as one of two things:
Unfriendly (Preferable) or Hostile (Unpreferable)
Why? The LWB is a staunch ally of the Hessians, and we are staying that way, even if we are neutral in the Outcast-Corsair War, we have a standing in the Hessian-Corsair War. However, the Corsairs don't really know this, since we were just previously neutral in both wars, and we are still not very known to the Corsairs, but any Corsairs we find in Rheinland Space will either be escorted out, if they agree, or destroyed, especially if Hessians are around.
From what I remember Zapp telling me, Blue Blaze is also found in Omega-11, which is 1 jump from Corsair space. That should be on your allowed list.
The Omegas are also a very active trade hub. Pirating there should also be a regular occurrence. I'd especially like to see this because a lot of the power traders have moved there in light of the pirates on the other two largest runs in the sector, and my Gateway has yet to be pirated by a Corsair. :(
Anyway, best of luck!

[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Thanks to both Zapp and Baconsoda, I've added the LWB to 'hostile' because our diplomacy is as simple as 'Allied', 'Neutral', and 'Hostile' at the moment. Blue Blaze added, though I don't want this to turn into a faction that could be labeled as 'RP-less PVP whores'.
The Zoners are red because they are mostly traders, and we pirate traders (alot), not caring for the consequences of striking them. The CR's status might be moved in the future.
I have to disagree with Zapp on the Bunschuh, though, since they are neutral in both the Hessian and Outcast wars. They have made a public statement saying that unless otherwise claimed, both Outcast and Corsairs will be escorted out of Rheinland, and destroyed if not compliant, making them not really hostile, but more of a neutral-unfriendly.
Also, I would put in friendly and unfriendly, since some diplomacies are rather hard to put in one of those categories.

That is a really good faction status post, even though you aren't even official...
Its a far cry from what we used to see regarding new factions; that is, this is much better than those.
Welcome to discovery! And feel free to make yourself at home in the lands of the Corsairs. Help in any way is always appreciated, and it certainly seems like you've done your homework!
Good hunting, Eagles:).
[And try not to aggrivate the Zoners too much eh?;)]

Yep, we did. We're unfriendly toward both Outcasts and Corsairs, but won't bother you unless you come into Rheinland. Similar goes for the Unioners, they forcefully keep themselves unaligned from Outcasts or Corsairs- although they are partial to the Liberty Rogues and may someday join the Outcast side.
But yeah- this is a rather nice proposal you've written up here. Good job!
