If you are reading this, then you might be the quality of man or woman we're looking for. My callsign is 'Graves', and I am responsible for your sorry ass through the recruitment process. The faster you get your file submitted for the vault, the faster I can get you gone. Provided everything checks out, we will green light your flight status and get you into space.
A few things to know ahead of submitting your background:
➊ While we may not be the whipping boys of the houses anymore, that doesn't mean you have free reign to do as you like. Pirate to your hearts content but don't be an asshole. We are, after all, more civilized than the other pirates out there. The people flying these transports are as much slaves of the houses and governments as we once were. If they run from you, treat you like shit, or just do something you don't like--then light em' up. Give them the chance to give you what you're asking for though.
➋ Unless police or military are hassling us or shooting at us, leave them be. Talk to them, try to get them to see their bosses have pulled the wool over their eyes. If they insist on violence, show them that we have not become rusty in our exile.
➌ All intelligence groups are to be treated the same as their military counterparts unless told ahead of time. Liberty Security Force, Marinenachrichtendienst, Kusari Office of Intelligence, Bretonian Intelligence Service all of these groups are jockeying for superiority over one another. If we help them fight their enemies, we weaken them as a whole.
➍ Other more 'organized' pirate organizations are neutral unless hired by one to attack another. Keep in mind this might not make us many friends but only act in defense outside of contractual obligations. If you are sent to attack a group, and they pay you more to attack our clients...well...turn about is fair play, eh?
If you can agree to these tenants, then submit your shit so I can get you out of my hair.

The chief purpose of LGN is roleplay--to create new stories and encounters for others to talk or write about both in and out of character. The secondary purpose for LGN is to be the counter to silent afk power traders who have a large presence on the server. I feel like a lack of an active piracy faction/group has lead these silent power traders to not feel any risk transporting cargo across vast swaths of open space.
Risk is inherent to any investment and this includes purchasing cargo at station A and delivering it to station B. While LGN is not meant to punish these players, it is to make them understand that roleplay is a requirement to play here. AFK trading is dangerous for your investment just as opening fire or attempting to run without any roleplay beforehand. LGN operates on something like "Hey friend, I'm out of fuel and I need some credits, could you spare 20k so I can get to my destination?" or "It's quite dangerous out here, Freelancer. Say, pay me 20k and I can ensure that you get back to civilized space safely." If you piss us off, open fire, or try to run, you might die. If you give up, we might take half of your haul.
I wanted to add this here so people know what they're getting into before applying to join. We're not assholes, we're not trying to ruin anyone's fun, we're just trying to hold everyone to a certain standard of roleplay and piracy against those individuals who feel like they don't need to do so seems the most equitable solution.
Thanks for reading my TedTalk. If you have questions about this, you can PM @Leo or just post in the faction document (linked in the signature) with questions. You can also offer suggestions based upon this excerpt if you wish.
I go by "Grunt", a name acquired during actions in 'peace-keeping' militias on Planet Sprague in the initial colonization days. Times were tough, so actions to bring back order had to be tougher. The many regrets of youth.
My experience, aside from the infantry days, also includes running transports and flying all varieties of combat craft in the civilian services, with some time in the military.
During those military years, eventually it was leaked to me through improper channels that evidence sprung up indicating BMM mismanagement and outright negligence was responsible for the uprisings that I'd helped quell in my infantry days. These findings were never exposed nor was any BMM data released.
Shortly thereafter, I left the service, seeing it only as another branch of the corporation in the name of profits before people. However, returning to regular life didn't sit well with me - it felt like some justice was needed but my own way - not under some other political cause.
My military background and flight experience allowed for retribution against these wrongs of the corporation - and other corporations cut from the same fabric. Raiding became a past-time to fill this void, then a career as I became involved with others for bigger fish - eventually settling in on Ithaca to keep under the radar of the authorities.
I'd happily join others in this pursuit - it seems to be my calling.

The corporations know no shame no matter the house they are from it seems. In many ways, they're often worse than those that hold their leashes: The governments that employ them. Sacrificing lives at the expense of the almighty credit. Funny how more things change the more they stay the same.
I would tell you to report to Ithaca but you're already here. Drop by Section 42ID and report for duty. Get ready for a good old fashioned PT test, physical from the Doc, and a genuine target assessment brief. Welcome aboard Grunt.
You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark. Roleplay is dead. Long live Powertraders and PvP I guess.
