About an hour ago, I turned my computer on to use it. When I tried to log in, my keyboard wasn't working, so I reach around behind my computer to make sure it was plugged in. Everything seemed good, so I tried logging in and my keyboard WAS working.
After I had logged in, I tried using my mouse, but nothing happened. The bottom of my mouse was glowing, so I know it was plugged in, but windows said it had malfunctioned, so after numerous restarts and plugging my USB mouse into every different hole I have, I got it to work. Great.
NOW. I have no sound. According to the Audio settings, I have NOTHING installed. Device manager says otherwise. Regardless, I have no idea what to do now. It seems my sound card isn't even working, any ideas would help.
EDIT: When I started up my computer the first time, I had problems getting it to actually start. This makes me think that perhaps there is an issue with the power supply...but it was fine before I turned it off the last time... I...do not know.

I am going to check for drivers, I KNOW I have no viruses cause I just checked this morning after I had a paranoia bout. I am also going to try restarting.
Restarting: the classic Windows troubleshooting method.
And yes, I am going to try that too.

Nothing has worked. Installed drivers, checked the bios, scanned for virus's AGAIN...it seems the computer can't see the card. Unfortunately, its integrated, so I can't remove it.
For the record, it is a Realtek AC '97... I have never had a problem like this before.

Alright, although, I should only have to do it to yesterday morning.. I'll try that. I can't help but feel that it will be useless, but oh well. Thanks. Gonna try that now.
EDIT: Just to reiterate (that the right word?) the computer doesn't even KNOW I have the audio card. I am thinking that perhaps the power outage I had before this problem cropped up might have caused this... Like it might have fried it or something? If it did, why is the rest of my computer working right? Oh well, I can't stand not having audio, as I wont be able to watch AVGN anymore!
