Biographical Segment:I come from humble beginnings, on Planet PIttsburgh. My parents are civilians. My father was a miner on the Planet, while my mother was a bartender. We didn't live lavishly, but they put food on the table for my sisters and I. I planned on following my father's footsteps, but I realized I wanted more out of life. I worked with Deep Space Engineering for a few years, to establish some savings, and get some work experience. But ultimately, I realized I had to take a leap of faith and try my hand with the Navy. I applied to West Point a couple times. Had a hard time getting in. Finally, on my third application cycle, they admitted me.
Training was difficult, but I find that I coped well. I managed to graduate this past September. I'm now looking for my first assignment. I was able to find a mentor in the Navy, Lieutenant Commander Callum Hayes of the 46th Fleet. He has been instrumental in not only teaching me things about the Navy, but life lessons in general. Between my graduation and his guidance, I find myself here, writing this application.
OORP Part Your experience in Discovery:I originally joined last year, but my PC broke shortly after joining. I came back about a year later, in April of this year. So I've been here about 6 months. I have not been sanctioned since joining Discovery. Biographical Segment:My mother was a teacher, and my father was a police chief. From an early age, I wondered how I could outdo both of them in service to others. In junior high I joined the Civil Air Patrol - Greater Crotona Park Region, and transferred to the Civil Space Patrol at age seventeen. As soon as I was of age, I enlisted in the Liberty Navy. While performing my service I have continued my education and acquired a degree in political history. During my time commanding the Glacier Peak I have taken a keen interest in the morale and health of my men; mandatory calisthenics have improved crew morale and response times while decreasing visits to the ship psychologist by six percent per mensem.

Biographical Segment:My home life was fairly sheltered. The family never seemed to come into any hardships though we were always expected to be at our best academically or otherwise. Once I was of age I applied for the Navy and eventually was accepted, much to my Parents disapproval. Eventually I had shown enough skill to Helm one of our Archer class Cruiser's, not long before the Colony Wars kicked off... Details of that time are hazy, though I do know the ship i served on was critically damaged over the course of the war, eventually being scuttled and the crew put into quarantine for a while. Now that I've been cleared for service again, I just hope to keep Liberty safe from whatever decides to threaten us.

Biographical Segment:Amelia Hale grew up on Los Angeles to a widowed mother with two older siblings and a display case of ribbons and medals for her father. Coming from a military tradition, she attended scouts growing up and found herself a good fit within JROTC during high-school. The structured nature of the military program gave her life structure and fatherly figures to look up to; something that had been missing in her life up to that point. Following in her father's footsteps, she enrolled in ROTC at the University of Manhattan in 809. Four years were spent studying, learning drill and ceremony, and attending field training exercises in the polar regions of Manhattan. She graduated in May of 813, 16th out of her class of 42, and accepted a Commission in the Liberty Navy. Packing for her first duty assignment, she wonders now with some hesitation but an intrepid spirit what the future will hold.
