In 778A.S. we purchased a decommissioned Argus class vessel, the second of the prototype run actually, and she has served us well as an exploration cruiser, however on the latest run she received some drive damage from an encounter from the Nomads.
As these days the Republic is the producer of the class, I am contacting you to see about bringing her in to one of your shipyards for repair.
I am Galen Orden, Crayter's Minister of Defense. Pardon the delay, as there was time spent verifying what we could regarding the ship in question.
Regarding that, we can direct some space to be made clear for the vessel and for service to be rendered where necessary. However, given the vessel's age, the nature of the damage sustained, and her users, a detailed inspection of the vessel will need to be conducted once she is berthed at Sabah. If this is acceptable, then you may bring the ship to Yuma for servicing.
Standard maintenance and repair shouldn't take too much time, but given the ship's age, a proper refit may be well warranted. This would take a substantially longer period of time, naturally, and I can understand wanting the ship ready for service as soon as possible.
The standard dockyard fees will be charged alongside the fee for materials once the ship is berthed. Only if the vessel is to receive a full refit will a secondary fee be requested for additional materials, payable to the Ministry of Finance.
Please let me know which is to be done. Regardless, Sabah dockyard technicians will be awaiting the vessel's arrival.
If you have any questions, please present them. Otherwise, I will anticipate your response.
Standard maintenance will do, get the serious damage fixed up and the guys at Pueblo Bonito should be able to handle the rest.
Don't worry about timeline, the crew has been out on mission for long enough that everyone's taking mandatory R&R, and I'm busy with all the paperwork that coming back to house space entails.
Oh, also, once you've had time to evaluate the repairs needed message me a price.
In that case, payment can be done aboard the station with Sabah's materials quartermaster, so there will be no need to contact the Ministry of Finance.
Depending on the damage sustained, standard repair work for an Argus-class model will take anywhere from a day to a week. Given the ship's age, the newer plating may even make it more durable in the long run anyway. Hopefully, this will work to your advantage down the line.
If any issues arise, please let the Ministry know.
We've run a full diagnostics of your Argus. Seems you're in possession of one of the original hulls given to the IMG years ago when the colonial remnant first arrived in Sirius. The propulsion and power generation systems seem to have been modernized, requiring minimal work. The defense systems and communication array both appear to be original, built from the Crayter sector and are centuries old. Though you've properly maintained them, they both are well beyond their lifespan and can give out entirely in the near future. I recommend we replace your defenses and you can replace your communications at a later time.
The armor plating is also the original set crafted from the Crayter sector. Though we've advanced our armoring techniques, what you currently have can stand up well against potential threats you may encounter. Renewing the armor is optional and up to you. Though I still highly recommend it.
