We sat in a voicechat with 5 people and spent over 2 hours trying to solve that riddle and we couldn't.
Yet the answer seems so easy. I even tried every station in Baffin, but not the system.
This is tough xD
Kudos for the good riddles!
Last ship available on this game of riddles is the Trademaster, it has been on the hands of a wealthy merchant who is now retiring.
Apparently, this ship is second hand and has a very long story of service around the lawful house space of Sirius. Its shipments have helped repair many stations, maintain many vessels, connecting Sirius, point to point, system to system.
Before this ship was re-sold, its former captain started by helping with exports of Boron during year 817 {4.85}. An old trading route that unfortunately came to an end, interrupted by Kusari and later on, Gallia.
The first person able to name the organization that used to own this ship before this old merchant did, will find themself inheritor of a reliable heavy duty vessel with around 1M Credits in its account. (Once more, just one word/term, all lower case)
Of course, the all mighty Deep Space Engineering. With my limited lore knowledge, first hint was Tau-23 with BMM, but with that not being the answer, I remembered some corpos carrying Boron in Liberty, and there you have it. Cheers for the riddle and prize!
Thank you for your time, glad that you had fun with the riddles.
With this, all my remaining assets, except one last ship, have been distributed around.
I still remember joining Discovery about 14 years ago. Wish I could have found this sooner, and even more, I wish I had greater maturity myself when I joined here. I still was about age 20 when I came here, but mentally I probably was way below that, and it took me very long to muse and truly realize about it.
Shared some great experiences with nice people, and some not so great experiences mainly due to my inexperience, immaturity or misunderstandings, nothing that we can, nor should blame on anyone really.
There are many fond stories to remember, I wish I could have done better during Disco's golden years, specially regarding role play, after all this time, I realized it is definitely not one of my strong points, at all.
I wish I could have interacted more with some of you, I am a big fan of a few factions with which I did not really interact that much barring observing and reading up on, I simply missed out... either due to arriving late, lacking time due to life, or just being afraid of messing up.
I left at some point, later returned, only to leave again. But in reality, I never truly fully left.
I still visit this place from time to time, just 2 to 4 times in a year. An anonymous player, generally silent transport captain of some sort which will only interact when talked to. All these ships you received were what I used to nostalgically visit Sirius. The intention of remaining anonymous was to have a little nostalgia trip and observe what is going on around the universe, if people would interact with my captain, it would be without them knowing which player was behind the helm.
There is no better way to keep a character considered neutrally as such, than it not being tied to a particular physical person to pin it to. Just enjoy the encounter, the spontaneous interaction in game, no longer worrying about long term obligations or trouble caused by pinning different unrelated characters to the same person. This is what I originally looked for here.
But I realized, I do not need all these assets to do this, a single ship suffices for this purpose. Probably the one whose character fits my personal way of tackling space best, specially Sirius.
This little game of riddles has not been my only gift to the community. If you have received some mysterious little anonymous payment purely out of the blue, it could have been me. I would distribute somewhat between 20% to 50% of my earnings when transporting, just rolling a dice selecting 2 or 3 people from the active player list to distribute little surprise gifts to brighten their day, giving a little sense of mystery, or wonder. This has been going on for about 4 years.
Since I could not really provide much in terms of great stories or too interesting characters to interact with, that has been my little grain of sand for this place as of late. Life is busy, and I no longer have the time or energies to get as involved as I used to. I will confess I also feel afraid of providing boring or unappealing interactions, but that was sorted out with this anonymity solution, at least nobody will know what to expect from the interaction beforehand, each interaction will be a blank slate of sorts.
Please note that this is not a farewell. Although it will remain very sporadic, I will be around, a humble observer, a wanderer bearing little gifts here and there, small stories if ran into, or a fun piñata to pop if the pirate prefers doing so, I am totally fine with that.
Not sure of how many of the old people I used to know remain here, but regardless... Thank you everyone, for the great time here, as well as for the patience for handling my silly rough edges while I was younger and less mature.
Whilst I wish I had gotten one of the ships, I do admire your story about peeking in and coming around every now and again. Hope we've put on a good enough play for ya.
