This message is to formally notify you of the death of my brother,
Jason Copperfield.
He was lost during an expedition in the Tau systems.
We have recovered his ship, a Corvo Deep Space Explorer, and my own people are analyzing its black box to get to the truth of the matter.
I don't trust such a task to anyone else.
Effective immediately, I, Joseph Copperfield, am assuming full control of my brother's copper operation at the facility you know as Copperland.
For the sake of operational continuity, business will proceed under the existing DSE affiliation.
Production will not be interrupted.
I will personally handle any complications arising from this change in management to ensure the stability of the operation.
Direct any further necessary correspondence regarding Copperland to me through this secure channel.
My condolences for the loss of your bother, Mr Copperfield. The instillation manifest will make the change to you being the administrator of Copperland.
The Taus are a wild and unruly space. The Crayter Republic strives to maintain it's peace within it's own space and provide safety to convoys moving to and from the Republic. If you have any concerns about the safety of your future operations just let me know. I will do all I can to aid you.

This is a follow-up regarding the loss of my brother's vessel.
The analysis of the black box is conclusive:
the destruction of his ship was not an accident.
The data points to an external event, an attack or even sabotage.
We are still working to identify the action and the party responsible.
Rest assured, we will find them.
On a separate matter, we need to bring a security issue in the Coronado system to your attention.
Our shipping and mining operations are facing sustained and increasing aggression from both Technocracy and Independent Miners Guild forces.
We have already lost good pilots and incurred significant repair costs from these coordinated attacks.
The level of aggression we are facing is disproportionate to our defensive capabilities.
To put it bluntly, our operation is outmatched and cannot repel these attacks alone.
This reality has forced my withdrawal to a secure location.
We must preserve the leadership of our operation while we are this vulnerable,
but from this position,
we cannot reverse the tide without external support.
