TARGET IDENTIFICATION . . .//>»INS-Fretensis
LOCATION . . .//>»OMEGA SECTOR, PROXIMITY OF AARHUS PLANETOID
OBJECTIVE . . ..//>»CAPTURE AND RELEASE
CHASE THE RABBIT
Our big prize has once again resurfaced. This time it won't be getting away. Agents Wells and Reid have been kind enough to provide us with the perfect opportunity to seize what is soon to be ours. Two days ago, the INS-Fretensis has made contact with the Junkers on Bornholm Depot for a job. Their deal is as follows:
. . . \\ "Alright, Barney. You willin' to get your hands dirty? That's fine by us. We need you to help deliver in bulk some cargo from point A to point B. Simple enough, yes? So be our big, mean courier and make sure these containers reach the Invergordon Salvage Yards. Don't fuck this one up, or we'll take your entire home for parts as compensation. Transporting goods of this kind in such large quantities is a dangerous job, but it should be able to cover your expenses for a while.
Tell your Captain I said hello, by the way." // . . .
I'm sure you figuret out by now that we were the ones to plant this job. The Fretensis has been set on a defined path towards Invergordon. The cargo they are meant to deliver comes in the form artifacts "hand-crafted" in Altair's labs -- some are duds, while others are very much active and dangerous. I was told that some of these are like transmitters of some sort. Once you get everything in position you'll have to stick around long enough for the effects to take root. Once that is done, leave the premises before they intensify. You will know when that happens as soon as symptoms such as migraine begin to worsen. You absolutely do not want to catch an Overseer's attention for disobeying orders, much less the Advisor that may or may not be watching the process.
CAMPAIGN . . .//>»DUBLIN HARVEST
LOCATION . . .//>»DUBLIN SYSTEM
OBJECTIVE . . ..//>»SCAVENGE AND DELIVER
We did what we could in Dublin. Bretonia faced a lot more resistance than what they bargained for. Our interests north of this decrepit House remain protected -- better yet, I received word from a friend flying with Stockton's Raiders that all this chaos allowed them to get away with a few stunts of their own.
So far we've racked up a staggering amount of 46,500 Gold waiting to be collected from the Mollys, as well as building up a stronger alibi for our other activities in the region. As conflict raged on across the system, the Salvage Team made of Tixtla, Guerteltier and Noth-21 collected various goods:
- 6221 units of Military Salvage
- 4000 units of Consumer Goods
- 1980 units of Light Arms
- 788 units of Black Market Munitions
This was not everything. Eleven has confirmed the appropriation of several semi-functional ship wrecks. While not great in number, they're as fresh as they're going to get and no Junker managed to get to them before us. All of them have been arranged to reach Stockton Depot, just like the miscellaneous cargo we 'found' lying around in Dublin.
This is where good news end and more grim topics begin to take root. While successful in our campaign, we had to spend a great deal to maintain our ships -- and when credits became a problem at an individual level, we improvised. I don't need to explain why that is a bad thing. Ultimately, this has cost us Kasimir - some of you know it as the Oder-class Gunboat flown by Twenty-Five and his crew. There are only so many spur-of-the-moment repairs we can make until a ship inevitably loses its efficiency and becomes a hindrance. Funerary rites will be conducted on Kaarst Drydock at 1900 hours on Thursday next week. Take this time to grant old Kas' the respect he is owed -- you can find buckets of white paint in the local quarters.
I wish losses would end here, but they don't. Nine has also left us. During one of the many engagements in the Dublin System, they and Eleven bit more than they could chew and ended up in a fight with less than favorable odds. Both Cutlasses have been destroyed and now serve as part of the system's decor. While our ex-hessian made it out with the help of our salvage team, Nine wasn't so lucky. Their escape pod never managed to escape the bomber's mangled innards -- the pod was found impaled by various scrap remains. Same place, same hour alongside Kasimir. Do not be late.
This campaign is coming to an end and with it our participation in Bretonia's affairs. Our brethren on Stockton Depot can rest a bit easier now. There is much work left to do in the Omega Sector, so I'll ask that some of you will take residence in Omega-58 and assist Kaarst Drydock's alchemists with their research.
Carrier Vessel Lindwurm and her crew, formal report on the findings of Dublin and our subsequent salvage operation.
Over the course of the invasion, our efforts were spent more on the backlines. Several clashes happened under observation, with some instances having Noth Squadron adequately protecting our vessel. Lindwurm remains in full working order, minor damages sustained to the port midsection, all hands accounted for.
Salvaging operation was a resounding success. Bretonian forces consisting of a Bulwark transport, a Bustard Civilian Carrier, a Bretonian Gunboat and several assorted Bounty Hunter and Bretonian fightercraft of varying degrees of damage sustained. Some Molly vessels were also retrieved, as well as one XKR-EV-ZERO "Storm" Gunboat of Coalition origin. The crew seemed to have abandoned the vessel after its engines were disabled, and left it adrift. Said vessel will be towed to Kaarst for maintenance and overhaul.
Service alongside Noth Squadron can be considered complete and a success. The war effort was a reliable harvest and shall be dropped off as requested. Noth Squadron may escort us there, and from then we go our separate ways. As far as the losses of the Squadron are concerned, and that of their allies, some salvage was recovered for processing and repurposing.
Once delivery is complete, Lindwurm and her crew will return to deep space operations in Omegas. Contact only in dire circumstances.
"I am reaching out to Altair Command and [CLASSIFIED]* for advice. Yesterday's scouting mission gave us a highly volatile item from an intercepted Corsair 'Correo'-class Freighter and its reinforcements. We don't know what to do with it, nor do we have the means to keep it contained. The cargo suffered a lot of damage post-destruction of the enemy we ripped it out of."
"The item in question is currently stationed at Kaarst Drydock in the Containment Wing."
"We will take ownership of the item. There are more than a few inquisitive minds that seek to get their hands on such an object as you have reclaimed. Frederich will be there in a week or so to investigate any possible options of safer transportation beyond Kaarst."
"For now, maintain possession until They arrive, rest assured we cannot allow this device to be wrested from our control. I will assume that there won't be any more noise from the intercepted crews? Though I suppose that matters little, when it is of course they who would be foolish enough to attempt an assault of our Omega Fortress."
▹Sender: Christoph Neumann, Special Unit 'Stulingen'
"The last of their reinforcements who also had ownership of this item died in Omega-41, far from any known Station. Nobody came to challenge us from that point on. You won't have to worry about those crews.
You honor us with the privilege to hold this trinket for a while longer. We will do what we can to have it prepared for safe transit.
"Ay, boss. We got one Freelancer in Omega-55. His name was Warlock or something. We tried to bring him in but... yeah he kind of popped the pill, if you catch my drift.
Now, before you go out yelling, this guy was sporting Order Tech - claimed he'd stolen it, but Three thinks otherwise. Anyway, the ship's remains are ours now. I bet they can still be smelted into something useful. We'll send them to Kaarst Drydock for you to analyze, I suppose. We also scraped a few body parts off the hull and bagged them - they'll be in the same container. Can't skimp out on fresh fertilizer, am I right?
Eyo, family and friends. Maybe even framily. As all of you might be aware we have a new home. And what do we do with homes? We keep it clean from noisy neighbours. The only music that plays here is the one that I play. Regarding any complaints that might arise from that please go to the nearest airlock and push the bright red button.
Buuuut anyways. What I wanted to inform you all about is that apparently, we have got new neighbours and I am not so sure what they are doing here. Set up shop right next to that Junkpeddler base, called it "Sparta Complex" or some such. It's so fresh it didn't even show an IFF when I found it. Soooo would someone go and contact those buffoons because if I hear one wrong note coming from them I might just blow a gasket.
Are you shitting me, Song? I know there's been nothing but chaos since these rifts have been opening about but... this just puts us in a dangerous spot right now.
Spread the news to everyone on Basel Rock. Make sure it's loud. Chances are we might need to demolish this before it becomes a real problem. But first? I'll knock.
Copy that One. I will be your errand girl and sing the others a sweet little melody about these intruders. Their reactions are gonna be interesting to observe.
Please knock. Either on their door or some sense into them. Maybe even knock them out. Knock their skulls or break some bones. Create music through them.
