From: Friedrich Krüger
Subject: An Open Call to Those Who Built Sirius

Guten Tag,

If this message reaches you, then you are one of the few who still remember what the Independent Mining Guild once stood for. Hard work. Fair reward. Community. A future built by miners, not taken from them.

Those days were stolen — first by the Corporations who fattened themselves on your labor, then by the Hessians who raided your hauls and called it “revolution.” Both claimed to fight for the worker. Neither ever did.

You, more than anyone, know the truth of it.

The Unioners extend a hand not as rulers, not as saviors, but as fellow laborers who were cut from the same cloth and betrayed by the same powers. We are rebuilding something different — something of our own — and there is room for those who know the smell of ore dust and the weight of a drill in their hands.

If you still have the skills…
If you still have the will…
If you still believe the worker deserves more than to be used and discarded…

Then perhaps your place is with us.

We offer purpose, dignity, and a chance to strike back at those who took everything you built — the megacorporate tyrants above and the Hessian looters below. Neither deserves to decide your worth. You do.

If any of you are seeking a cause worthy of the people who keep this sector running, contact us through secure channels. No obligations. No pressure. Just a conversation among equals.

The engine of Sirius was built by your hands. It’s time someone started building for you again.

Mit Respekt,
Friedrich Krüger

PRIVATE MESSAGE RECEIVED
[Image: Louna-polusa-removebg-preview.png]

At first there is no visual, only audio. A recipient can hear some noise like if someone was rubbing polystyrene against the glass window. Then, the hellish noise finishes and someone is asking why the video is not working and gets a reply, but there is no microphone focus so the recipient cannot make any sense of what was said. Not like it mattered anyway. Suddenly, image appears and the message begins.

Greetings and a very good morning, day, evening or night, depending on your local time!

My name is Anton Fomin, a pleasure to make acquittances! I was very thrilled to receive your message and wanted to answer you immediately after this message reached me however sudden Outcasts attack distracted me and after all those junkies were dealt with, I simply forgot about to send a reply! My apologies for this, however it may happen again more than once should we continue communicating.

You see, those issues you mention, and some others were the reason why I and my fellow Guildsmen and people from the Crayterian Republic founded an organization named Borneo Mining Syndicate. It was years ago and unfortunately all we wanted to achieve never came to life - the Guild and the Republic are even more divided than they were after the fall of Aland - however I kept hope that one day I may get a possibility to change things at least for my men aboard the Auriga!

I believe you understand how horrible it is to be a skilled miner, explorer, geologist and so on but instead of putting your skills to use you have to defend yourself from numerous pirate raids to our home system - Tau-44. We would rather be charting some far reaches and seek new resource deposits, but the Guild is not what it was - it is now very petit and deep down into politics.

I however don't want to switch banners right away, because it is not gonna be as simple as changing socks, I believe you understand. You have to fully convince me that joining your cause will benefit my ends, and once you convinced me - I may need your help with convincing my men, who are not going to blindly follow me just because I tell them that the Unioners have cookies. I hope you understand, yes?

So how about we meet in person on some neutral territory and talk face to face first?

Looking forward your response,
Anton Fomin of the Auriga

The message ends with man smiling widely - his moustache reminds of two capibaras kissing.

END OF MESSAGE

Guten Tag, Herr Fomin,

First things first — no apologies necessary.
Outcasts have a talent for showing up where they shouldn’t, and derailing one’s entire schedule seems to be their most consistent skill. I’m glad you came out of it in one piece, and I appreciate you taking the time to reply at all.

Your message carried something rare these days: honesty.
That alone already puts you ahead of most “leaders” in Sirius.

I hear you clearly.
A skilled worker forced to spend more time dodging raid warnings than doing the work he was trained for — that is not a life. It is a slow death by exhaustion and wasted potential. We Unioners know that feeling intimately; our entire movement was born from that same frustration. Workers who wanted to build ships and improve their craft were instead pushed into conflict by corporations who saw them only as assets.

Your experience with the Borneo Mining Syndicate tells me you are a man who has tried, more than once, to build something better for your people. That alone earns my respect.

And no — we do not expect you to “switch banners like socks”.
If that were the case, we would not have survived as long as we have. Loyalty is a precious thing when it comes from conviction, not coercion. Your men are right not to move blindly. We don’t want blind loyalty — we want understanding.

You asked whether joining our cause would benefit your ends.
The honest answer: it depends on what your ends are.

If you want power, we cannot give you that.
If you want stability, protection, and the ability to work without pirates dictating your schedule — that we can offer.
If you want independence from corporations, and a chance to put your skills toward something that actually improves life for workers instead of fattening shareholders — then yes, Fomin, our goals align more than you may think.

But these are words. You requested something more valuable: a meeting.

Name the location, and I will be there in person.
Neutral space, Zoner station, your choice.
Somewhere your crew feels safe, and somewhere where we can speak without the noise of politics or the crosshairs of opportunists.

Bring your doubts. Bring your questions. Bring your men if you wish.
I’ve nothing to hide, and nothing to offer except what the Unioners have always stood for — dignity for workers, and a future we build with our own hands.

I look forward to speaking face-to-face, Herr Fomin.

Mit kollegialem Respekt,
Friedrich Kruger

G'day there, Leo speaking.

Not that rare that we get propaganda shoved down official channels, not with the kinda people we deal with, but wasn't expecting it from the Unioneers. However I'm no propagandist, I'm just an engineer, so ya will have to excuse me if I cut through the bullshit and get straight to it.

Is this the same Unioneers that were buddy-buddy with the Emperor's faction during the civil war, that crushed what little hope there was for the workers of Rheinland to see better days?
Is this the same Unioners that are still buddy-buddy with the Corsairs, the pillaging scourge of the Omegas, that harass the guild's operations on the daily?
Is this the same Unioners that gassed Alster?

The Guild stands for its workers. What exactly do you stand for? 'Cause from this syndicalist's point of view you have a lot of shit to answer for.

Wasuuup~, bitcheees!

How are y'all in Rheinland? Good? Yeah, thought so. Coulda' fooled me, though. Like, don't get me wroooong and shieeet, but why the love poems and boot kissin'? I mean if ya want...I'm not against it. I have these absolute BANGER heels that need some cleaning. They're fuckin' HAWT, I tell ya.

Okay okay okay okay. Lemme' jump straight to the biz here. Soooo...Schully told me to handle this whole situation since I'm closest to Rheinland and have some experience in the field. He was all so...imposing 'bout it, too. Also hot. Anyway, your love letter is such a turn-off. Yeah, we got the skillzzz and heck yeah we're continuing the age old tradition of sticking it to the baaad corpo man who treats the huzzy wuzzy workers like poopoo. Butt...there's always a but.

Yeaaaa...I feel like our reputation will go down really fast, if any one of us decide to go to you for guidance, "purpose", or...god forbid some co-ops. See, sugar. You've been hanging out with the wrong crowd for a loooooong time, and now ya get to pay for it. Hard. Outcasts are one thing, but Corsairs? Reaaaaally? All they gonna' do is murder the workers you tryina' claim you want to save. They've been doing that for ages. You picked yourself a deal with the devil you are too comfy to walk out of.

Oh, and- wait, hold on a moment.

[She reaches down in her left-side pocket to pull out a mobile. A quick glance at its screen is followed by the device dashing to towards her ear.]

Heeeey biiitch! Watcha dooooing? Oh? Uh-huh. Oookay~ d-daaamn, that's the darndest thing. You could not have called at a better time, I'm telling you. Yeah- yeah I knooow! Stop it! N-Nooo you stop it! Okay okay, bye! Kisses!

Sooo...Mister Diplomat. I got a call from one of our convoys in Frankfurt. Aaaand...apparently you just~ and I mean just taxed them with a Corsair by your side. Walk me through that particular mess.

Guten Tag, Leo.

I appreciate you speaking plainly. I prefer that over velvet-wrapped words any day.
If you want honesty, you’ll get it.

Let me clear the smoke first, because you deserve a straight answer from someone who came up from the factory floors just like you.

1. “Buddy-buddy with the Emperor’s faction.”
The civil war tore our movement apart.
Factions splintered, men chose sides out of fear, confusion, or survival.
Hundreds of us rejected that course and walked away entirely — myself included.
The people speaking to you today are not the same leadership that dragged the Union into that disaster.
Most of them are dead, exiled, or long removed from power.

We’ve spent the last years rebuilding the Union *so it can never be hijacked like that again*.

2. “Still buddy-buddy with pillagers in the Omegas.”
Our stance is simple:
We deal with anyone who doesn’t threaten our workers, and we avoid anyone who does.
We hold no allegiance to any raiders.
We neither fly under their flag nor follow their wars.

3. “Gassed Alster.”
Every Rheinlander knows that scar.
But very few know the truth beneath the slogans.

The atrocity at Alster wasn’t the work of shipwrights, dockhands, or union organizers.
It was the work of a paranoid clique that seized the Union during the worst years of the civil war.
We live with the shame of what they did in our name.
We do not hide it.
We do not excuse it.
We rebuilt our organization specifically so nothing like that can ever happen again.

You asked what we stand for.

We stand for the same thing your Syndicate does:
• workers owning the means of their own survival,
• resistance against corporate exploitation,
• syndicalist independence from foreign powers,
• and the belief that people like us shouldn’t be crushed between the gears of Houses and megacorps.

You don’t owe us trust — trust is earned.
But don’t judge today’s Union by the ghosts of the past.
Judge us by what we build now, with our own hands, for our own people.

If you want a conversation, man to man, worker to worker, I’m here for one.
If not, I’ll respect that too.

Frau… Finalizer, I assume,

I’ll address your last point first, since it seems to be the one that lit the fuse.

No Unioner gave an IMG convoy a “tax.”
No escort, companion, tag-along, or tourist at my side issued one either.
If someone waved a weapon in your convoy’s direction and tried to pass themselves off as acting with my authority, then they were lying through their teeth.

The Unioners do not issue demands to IMG vessels unless fired upon or directly interfered with. That is standing policy, and it has not changed.

If you can provide the name or callsign of the individual involved, I’ll have the matter handled internally.
If they were an impostor, we both deserve to know.

Now—onto your general… tone.

You’re angry.
Fair. Rheinland’s a pressure cooker, and Omega-7 has a habit of grinding everyone’s patience into dust. But don’t mistake a diplomatic enquiry for “boot-kissing.” The Unioners extend courtesy because we still remember when the Guild was a refuge for workers instead of a battleground.

You mentioned “wrong crowds.”
We work with who we must to keep our people alive.
That does not make us disciples, vassals, or converts of anyone.
We’ve stood alone before, and we still can.

What we reached out to you for was simple:

Skilled miners, engineers, geologists—people who deserve better than being shot at by half of Sirius for doing honest work.

Nothing more mystical than that.

If you’re not personally interested, that’s fine.
If your people want clarification before they even consider talking, also fine.
But if someone fed you a story about Unioners leaning on IMG convoys under my authority, then we should correct that fiction before it becomes a problem neither of us needs.

So—
You have my channels open.
Give me a callsign, timestamp, or location, and I’ll walk you through exactly what happened and who was actually involved.

Until then, take a breath.
Omega-7 has claimed enough tempers for one lifetime.
