Since the fall of Omicron Zeta at the hands of the Nomads, every resident in the Omicrons has anxiously awaited their next move. Several long-range energy readings confirmed that Nomad activity within Zeta has spiked, yet the expected march through the Omicron Mu minefield has not arrived. Sore memories of Toledo abound on both sides, with defenses around Nauru and Akabat rising proportionately. The Nomads were not above laying waste to a planet, leaving its crust and mantle in orbit above itself. Freeport 11 was not without its worries, either, with Capetown and Cairo being crushed recently. The Freeport was battle-hardened, whether through aggression from its alien neighbors or its human ones. Even so, it was no military base. Not like Capetown or Cairo.
The strategy of the Mindshare is, however, much slower. Strategies built on guarantees, rather than possibilities. The Advisors knew that crushing a planet or a station would not bring an end to their enemies. In fact, it would barely weaken them, instead inspiring them and their progeny to rise up again later, stronger. A different approach was needed. Instead of trading blow for blow, The Advisors deemed it necessary to sap the strength, degrade the spirit, and introduce hopelessness to the enemy. A stranglehold that withered away the body, heart, and mind.
The strike in Zeta was a first step, introducing fear, reminding the nearby humans to look up to the sky with horror and apprehension. The next step was to suffocate them, as the endless flood moved to their new, broader target: the Tokelau Ice Cloud. Omicron Mu had limited supply routes. Any supplier had to approach through Omicron Minor, Omicron Zeta, or to bypass the might of Kusari through Tohoku, and even then, the Tohoku jump hole was unstable. The Light's grasp on Zeta must be leveraged through the Tokelau Ice Cloud into Delta and Omicron Minor to begin starving the Order from the resources of the outside world. Robbing Carthage and Akabat of the metals necessary for infrastructure and ships, condemning the heart of the Order to a slow and depressing death.
