“Bowman”,
You can thank the stupid Junker who can’t encode a communication to save his life for this one. That or just accept the gift without looking too closely.
The name’s Oyens. Erie is my home and Pennsylvania is my system, no matter what the suits in DSE say, no matter what the stiffs in LPI say, no matter how hard the LSF listens. Bristol’s my family about things, and my family agrees - Pennsylvania goes for Pennsylvanians, that simple, that easy.
Caught a communication on the NeuralNet and went hunting, that’s what we did, and found a cruiser in Kansas. She’s old, from the Pesticide days, with a shot through the reactor by the name of Reckoning. Consider her a gift. From how Pinnacle Station looked at the ship, seems she’s remembered. That’s good. She’ll be remembered again by the LPI stiffs.
Liberty Rogues tried to cut us off while we were cutting through Kansas, first by coming out of the woodworks of the Overland, then while we were running the Overland. They tried again when we were in the Driftwood. There’s not much to say to that other than “they failed”. Some of the Prometheus folks helped us out on that last stretch, though. I won’t judge folks who made mistakes before I was around Bristol, but they seemed alright.
Pennsylvania for Pennsylvania, and Glory to the Pinnacle.

Mister Oyens, you're a damned resourceful man. This is quite the surprise, the return of an old girl that fought in the Battle of Erie.
While I'm grateful for this, I'm forced to consider what my cell can properly do with a cruiser warship derelict. You'll note we've no repair drydock at Pinnacle Station, and our spaceborne assets - and for that matter, capable spacer crew - are extremely limited in number.
Regardless, better in our hands than a Junker's, eh?
I don't question its potency as a symbol, however. I asked an engineer I know aboard the station to give me a brief on its status. Your delivery had her positively animated. I'll attach her appraisal of the ship for your review.
It'll take time and effort, but you and Bristol have the right of it. We'll find a role for the EDF Reckoning to play in driving the House from this system, whether we can get her fighting as a line cruiser again or not.

What's the word, footslogger? Got a close look at that cruiser the whole station's been buzzin' about, and hot damn! They sure dropped off the Reckoning, all right, but she's looked a lot better. I never thought I'd see this boat again, after the Libs munched her up and took the Pinnacle for seconds! You buy this thing in an auction?
Well, she didn't want to make it easy to go an' see her. Docking port was all kindsa fucked up. I had to float on over just to get inside, and lemme tell ya, this thing's a piece of junk. Lemme list out what's wrong just on my first look.
The reactor's toast. Damage control teams look like they barely averted a meltdown caused by multiple precise railgun punctures - I remember watchin' that volley rip her up when I was on the Dauntless - but it's basically a write-off at this point. You can technically fire it up, but with the kinda permanent damage I'm lookin' at, it could fail at basically any time.
Some theivin' magpie ran off with all her guns! Just plum ripped the turrets right outta the rotation assemblies. Probably Rogues or Junkies looking to pawn off the heavy ordnance, which, I mean, respect, but now that's our problem!
Shield system? Don't even try an' hope, of course that's completely fried too. Like the reactor wasn't bad enough.
The docking ports plain don't work, duh. Took too much of a pounding there, so we'd need to do a whole rebuild.
Y'like escape pods? The crew sure did too, which is why there aren't any here. Which I reckon probably helped them out after they bugged out from the battle and realized their ship was pretty much done for. Didn't help that guy what turned inta' a smear on the wall down in engineering. Just, fuckin' railguns. Sheesh.
And this is all just at first glance, man. I haven't even dug into anything yet to see what else is FUBAR, like fuel lines or optronics setup. I dunno what you ground pounders expect to get outta this thing, but heck, it's probably a helluva lot better to just strap summore engines to it and slam it into somethin' than spin her back up as a warship.
But don'tchu go doin' that yet, alright? Us Pesticide old-timers ain't had the chance to admire an original EDF ship in a hot minute. In a weird kinda way, this hunk of crap's got us in some good spirits! We're passin' memories back and forth of staring down the Alma and diving in on siege cruisers. You know, for a bunch of yahoos, we put up a damn good fight that day...
Alright, enough of that feelings shit. I'll work a full up-and-down into my schedule, but telling you right now it's cheaper to try and buy a new one if you're lookin' for a cruiser. Rheinland's underworld only crapped out about ten-thousand of these things. I didn't find any trace of her extra-special cargo either, which I'll have to tell y'all about next time you come up starside. Original crew had a crazy stupid plan about how to deal with the Alma. I mean, we can see how that went, but I'll tell ya when I see you.

“Bowman”,
Any hull’s a good hull, like I said. From what I can tell, though, these Rogues are damned unhappy about us taking the vessel from her place, adrift in Kansas. They’ve started stupid movements in Bering, too, as well as making noise in Galileo. I won’t put it on us helping you that they’re rat bastards, but they certainly have gotten into a twist over Bristol shooting their ships. I hope you appreciate exactly how much trouble this whole deal has made for Bristol, because the Board sure fucking does.
Anyways. If she never proves mobile enough, then you can consider her another good weapons platform. If you ever come up with a list of materials to try and get her moving, then we might be able to help with that. One cruiser might not turn the tide in Pennsylvania, but it’ll sure do something I think.
Pennsylvania for Pennsylvania, and Glory to the Pinnacle.
