I am fully aware of what the leak entails, it does appear to be legitimate when comparing to my data regarding jump drive theories but -- I saw the device they tugged along, the husk was damaged - especially from the erosion of its presence within... well. I know what happens to those who don't calculate hyperspatial coordinates properly.
And if you're curious enough to look at this data, obviously do it upon a throwaway machine.
Now my job has been made infinitively harder, various idiots across Sirius are going to be tearing into the fabric of hyperspace. As if we needed anymore holes in this little sandpit called Sirius. But I suppose at least Liberty isn't the only one to solely dominate this market anymore...
Maybe I should just find a cosy spot to watch, sit back and relax with some fine wine, as Humanity slowly kills itself.

I didn't expect much different from you. And I know what place you refer to. At least someone who won't mess around where there is no need to.
Instead of sitting back, maybe help me figure out a solution? Kishiro and the KOI are working overtime on their own one. Everyone here involved knows the severe risks this leak bears. Not just militarily. The place you sometimes venture into and shouldn't be in, yes? That nasty, lethal leftover cloud? That is a Jump Drive failure.
That disaster was the result of incomplete understanding by Kishiro, a lesson learnt and kept under wraps as luckily barely a soul lost their life over it. It will happen again, potentially tens of times. Potentially on Planets. The possible casualty numbers could make Leeds look small. This is more than serious, these idiots of Lane Hackers unleashed something they do not fully understand. Nobody reading and tinkering based on these schemata does. There will be deaths, caused by some misplaced beliefs.
And if someone does figure out how Kishiro makes them not implode on usage, then we have a whole different issue to worry about. This technology was never meant to be utilized lightly.
Work with them? I could... it would be a lot easier to work with the baseline solution. And I have a lot of connections in this regard...
But you know about my condition. What am I getting out of this, besides the obvious that we get a chance to survive? How do I know these people are not going to kill me?

I will discreetly probe around, see if there's anyone remotely ready to "accept external assistance" under the condition that said external assistance won't leave with any data. I remember how you walked off with sizable chunks of the Core's database, you know?
I would still prefer to work out something in parallel to them, even if I manage to set you and them up without any unnecessary deaths required down the line.
I understand your concerns here and I do not blame you for it. OPSEC is necessary. But you also need to remember... these other faulty drives across Sirius are going to bring harm to the Sector as a whole, yes?
How are you going to prevent external parties from messing up? Or do you want them to remain in the dark so that you remain competitive as anomalous activity degrade the Sector gradually?

It is too late to leave anyone in the dark. Many might not understand the implications, some will. Some will try to create external devices. There is no all-fixing solution to this. I am afraid these deaths are now inevitable, unless of course we get someone pose as expert for the less scrupulous customers who then deliberately makes these devices fail.. in a safe fashion. I am thinking of you here. The same goes for possible solutions to the degradation effect you've repeatedly mentioned in the past. A Kusari controlled usage of the device would mean a controlled environment, controlled acceleration at least. Now we face the possibility of exponentially increasing cases of hyperspace manipulation - all lacking the safety knowledge garnered by Kishiro over years of research. At least trying to slow down the spread of crudely made, incomplete and thus incredibly volatile devices should be our priority for now. By any means necessary.
The solution Kusari will figure out first and foremost is how to defang the device's military use, so that our own invention can't be turned against us should the day of a successful external copy come to be. Kishiro appears aware of potential effects on hyperspace itself but that angle will take much longer to investigate and unsurprisingly enjoys less priority than national security for the time being.
I will happily assist in means of creating countermeasures to protect ones self from aggression of the drives. And likewise, I'm happy to contribute to stabilising them to ensure the vector calibration matrices are properly designed. You understand that tearing apart hyperspace itself threatens all of us. I cannot permit for enabling an extinction level event, and I can see some idiots trying to use the fragility of this energy plane as a dirty bomb. Or worse, the jump links falling apart.
To me, this is of utmost importance to investigate. I'll be arriving in Kusari in the coming days, I'm wrapping up some other matters in the meanwhile.
