It saddens me to speak to you under these circumstances.
Kaigun Gensui Okamoto was an icon, a symbol of a true Kusari warrior. Fiercely loyal to the people of Kusari, compassionate, wise, unbending and a masterful strategist.
His loss is a tragedy beyond measurement and we shall carry his spirit and love for Kusari in our hearts.

War is on the horizon and the Admiralty cannot sit idly permitting a vacant seat. This seat is now mine, so permit me a brief introduction.

The name is Kojima Akenobu, aged 54. Serving the Empire as part of the Imperial Guard since 31 years. Commander of the Ashuradō Special Forces since 821 AS. In light of changes occurring to the Naval command structure in the nearby future, I was granted the rank of Kaigun Gensui with the blessing of His Imperial Majesty Kogen-dono and Shogun Ikeda-dono.

Command over the IKN-Matsumoto previously held by Kaigun Gensui Okamoto will hereby be transferred to Kaisho-ho Kojima Orochi, as my position does not permit me regular frontline duties. Following the assassination of Okamoto-sama, the Ashuradō Special Forces were called into active duty and I am unable to leave his Imperial Majesty's side for the time being.

With my new privileges, I am hereby issuing the first general order:
All fleet command is hereby recalled to the Shogunate's headquarters in the Kōkyo Imperial District. The restructuring of the IAF begins now.

Tensions have been rising lately with Liberty, with some rumors of a full-scale war after the assassination of Admiral Okamoto. While this is our primary concern, the domestic terrorists known as the Golden Chrysanthemums and Blood Dragons were caught planning a surgical attack in the Hokkaido system. Fortunately, reinforcements came in time and our force managed to intercept their flotilla.

While the battle was intense and some of our ships were put out of action, I am pleased to report that the enemy fleet has been neutralized. Granted, some of them were regarded as one of the finest pilots I've encountered. I recommend further patrols, since they may be using the Galileo situation to launch further attacks on Kusarian infrastructure.
