I like Korrd's idea. The central system isn't meant to have the best trade routes. those should be the border worlds trade routes that offer very high profit trade routes. the NY - Delta route is in some Border World, but also in NY.

Personally I agree... NY Should *buy* passengers higher, afterall, why would people want to leave Manhattan????

Route should be made to, buy passengers at Malta (Current price on NY) fly to FP11 (Same profit) if you so choose, fly to NY For more profit.

IMO.

DO, your not understanding. We want NY to be OFF all the trade routes With only medium trade routes available that go to it. Then people must decide on dangerous (due to BW NPCs and player pirates) routes with high profit, or safe routes along the no-pvp area.

I understand that Dab... but with what I'm thinking, NY would only be like 100-200 credits more profit... I honestly don't think people are going to spend an extra 20-30 minutes of flight time for 200 extra profit.

Teaboy, you apparently weren't here before SF was created and when we decided to make NY a no-PvP zone and unclaimable.

There are several reasons for the no PvP rule

You have stated one.

The *REAL* reason is cause it's the starting point, and we did not want to have a bunch of n00bs shot up just "cause they can be". It would be insanely unfair to them.

THe other reason is to keep faction alignments at a decent level. Back when we could own entire system (entire gropus in fact), SF owned both Bretonnia and LIberty, only to be matched by AW. We gave up Liberty under one condition.. it's UNCLAIMABLE by any and all factions to keep the peace on the server and give all new players a starting point not controled by any existing in-server faction.

I will *NOT* support lifting the no PvP rule. End of story. it's there for the new people, not for us.

If people insist on continuing the no PvP rule, then they're just asking for bans. System camping is a major issue and we've discussed placing rules *AGAINST* it.

Lets be real, people. changing a major rule like this isn't something that's gonna be easy to do. The suggestions I've read here don't make any sense as an alternative.

@Dab: For once, I agree. the NY/Delta route has been around long enough. It needs to be moved. Perhaps.. Kusari-Delta ? There's a quick route by taking a few short stops, but I don't know.

@Everyone else: I'm saying this once. the No PvP rule in NY Stays. oNly way it's gonna be lifted is if everyone stays out of that system.

We need to make our few high-profit trade routes into many medium or large-profit routes. That way not everyone is on the same route, and they can pick one that makes as much, or more, or maybe a bit less profit but keeps them closer to say, SF closer to Bretonia.

Generally i would agree.

Tho i'm still kinda partial to the VIP route, as it makes me money fast ;)

Hey, what's wrong with the VIP route? You have Rocks, Corsairs, radiation, rocks, more Corsairs, more rocks, then Ice and pesky Corsairs... and a lot of manual flight.

EDIT: I forgot to mention LOTS of mines.

Wolf. i am NOT trying to lift the pvp rule. i suggestit be moved to a different system, perhaps a new one. and the new system would be the starting zone. this will allow for liberty factions. id ont care about players camping in the no pvp system, thats not what im getting at. if they do that, as far as im concerned im stopping them going about their business and thats good terrorism.
