Currently, I am using Bit Defender. It does an excellent job, but the icon dissapears from the tray, and I can't connect to anything (game servers, FTP servers including my own server) without putting it in "Game-Mode"
It dosn't have an option where I can open the firewall up. So I have had it with this annoying red ball of crap.

Avast was good...I loved the fact it warned you verbally about Trojans and other virus related stuff. But Windows Defender *screams* picked up Trojans Avast didn't. So I was led to beleave it wasn't doing its job.

Sophos is probably the best anti-virus known to man, but its to expensive. WAY to expensive and designed for cooperate use.

Is there an Anti-Virus out there, where I can configure firewall and program allowances...ect...ect...With real time protection, a fast and effective boot scan system, something that can alert me verbally and keep my sanity at the same time without all the annoying pop-ups and the like.

argh! Someone hold my hand:(

PS: If anyone suggests the following Anti-Virus programs, I will come to their house and shoot them...
  • AVG (I have that...I want something new)
  • Zone Alarm
  • Windows Defender
  • Norton 2007 or 2008
  • CA Anti-Virus
Cheers:cool:

Kaspersky fer sher. They're the people whom everyone goes to to update their virus databases. It barely uses 50k of my memory when its running. For comparison, Freelancer uses around 20k and Firefox around 150k.

Norton will get into your registry and seriously screw your computer up. Plus it's slow. McAffee is pretty slow too, but I don't think it screws up your computer as bad.
