The idea of a Junker superbomber is strange. As was said by multiple people, this isn't what the Junkers would build (maybe after robbing a massive Synth shipment).
Multifunctionality is Junkers' main trait. Why have an extremely expensive ship dedicated to cap-killing that you don't use because you have no capital ships attacking you (and not because of the ship, just because they have no reason to do so)?
The Junkers are a bunch dedicated to profit of any kind. If they build a ship with anti-cap capabilities, the'll make sure it isn't too dedicated and can be used for everyday issues. Some smuggling, robbing or collecting scrap...
' Wrote:hmm...they need to choose...well yes...i said it could fire nova...not that it should fire one...and besides, SVHF wont kill capital ship alone...it needs escorts...so escorts may carry CDs...somebody did mentioned escorts didnt it?...lets stick to that.
but this bomber doesnt need any escort.. it is SVHF + escort with CD + escort with another torpedo in one ship... thats too much and 50 cargo cant compensate it. And as I and many ppl said befor, junkers doesnt need superbomber.
I say stats like rest of bombers or stats like svhf but with one torp slot which in that case = turn idea from superbomber into superfighter BUT author dont want superfighter but bomber.
Masive hull can be compensated with slow turn rating... thats not problem, but rest of stats and generaly mega power regen and 3 torp slots = overpower like hell.
My point is not to lobby for a "supership" its to lobby for a unique one.
To think Junkers are static and never think outside a small box is unimaginative.
Look at the Russians in the Cold War for example. Masters of theivery. Stole half their tech from the US but in the process of learning how to build stuff from scratch came up with some unique ideas the US has not to this day matched.
This "argument" on what ships can Junkers fly is more a server politics argument which ain't my point. Where is the sense of Junkers refurbishing cruisers but they would never consider a bomber?
Again it takes the place of a gunboat or bomber or even cruisers. Nerf and adjust it--my stats were never intended as "decrees" they were the starting point of discussion based on in-game logic along the line of, "If I was a Junker, what could I do this with?".
"That can't/never will happen" isn't much of a discussion. It would be great to have a dedicated bomber and if you want to justify the weapons, fewer is better--simpler to maintain, more effective in a quick assault and more room left for cargo and less crew to pilot and maintain them. Why put two turrets, two torps and four guns on when two will do? I think that's pretty Junker like.

We not only said what to do with it, we also argumented why a dedicated bomber does not make sense for Junkers.
"It would be great to have a dedicated bomber" maybe for the mod in general, but Junkers have no use for it. It would just cost them extra money for something that would rust in the docks because it would have no other use than fending off nonexistent cap assaults.
About a refurbished cruiser... If you mean salvage frigate, that was made into something the Junkers have a use for. A Transport/GB hybrid.
If you mean Rheinland Pirate Cruiser, that has nothing to do with Junkers apart from a screwed-up selling location.
infocard Wrote:Of all Rheinland pirate groups, only Red Hessians are capable of building cruisers of their own. Bundschuh, Unioners and LWB don't build capital ships, but sometimes have a chance to buy - or steal - Red Hessian cruisers of older modifications, or even newer models that were crippled in battle.
Actually the Salvager was proposed as a sort of Hybrid gunboat for Junkers--or mutated to that--specifically to deal with the more powerful DISCO ships it encounters.
"Junkers" are not just the NPCs but the players too.
If you drew a graph of ship power over time they have become progressively stronger. This is a simple response to that.
I'd be happy with a one torp version of it with no CD. Its the idea of a unique ship in a bomber role that makes it intriguing to play.
But I'm happy to see the model in regardless. Whole point was an alternative to gunboats and cruisers.

The Russians were anticipating a war with the US, so what did they do? Build lots of things that can kill Americans, Humans. They didn't go and build weapons specialized in beheading midgets now did they? Why not? They didn't really come across angry midgets often enough to warrant such technology... Same deal with Junkers making superbombers, or any bomber really.
Angry capships are a lot more common than angry midgets. I'd say that angry capships (with the anger directed at Junkers) are as common, if not more so, than angry fighters.
