I am all for un-nerfing caps, but, it is a heck of a job to take down a BS with just 2 Bombers. I wouldn't call it easy by any means. I would say 3 is more plausable.

Eh? A single bomber killing a BS? Where did you see that? That can never happen unless BS captain is afk and bomber is armed with 4 coladas.
2 bombers can't beat a medium sized battleship if the captain is good.
That means, 2 bombers can't beat a cap8 Osiris/Lib dread/Togo if the captain knows his job.
3 bombers are fair play.
In case of 2 bombers, escort really helps. Ask the phantoms.

Snubnose armor : 21.800 x 2.5 = 55k
BS turret damage : 2400 x 12-18 = 28.800-43.200

60x28.800 = 1.728.000
60x43.200 = 2.529.000

Again.. Eh? Even with bots bats you don't need more then 4,5 hits to kill it.

As I said, making battleships stronger will just ruin the fun for most people.
You can continue your rant about real life and RP.
I'v even seen people saying how it's bad RP to beat a BS with 3 bombers.
And you know what? I rarely ever see a BS escorted with support fighters (Eagle, HF's, LF's).
Ex-BSG was able to protect it's battlestar (Warhammer) for a very very long time.
Know why? Because we always had 5-6 Vipers with it. If we didn't, it wouldn't undock.

BATTLESHIPS ARE NOT ALL-SITUATION CRAFTS!
DON'T USE BATTLESHIPS IN SITUATIONS THAT DON'T REQUIRE BATTLESHIPS!

And if you can land 5 hits in a row with a BS on a bomber (rogue bomber, the biggest and slowest around) you're a God. FL mechanics son, all turrets are at different distances from the target. Even if your aim is damn perfect, you will miss. Liked what I read in Dusty Lens's first post.

You are welcome to throw some horrible ideas in between, of course.
I'd support them if they are reasonable.
Changing capital ships is in progress, no point in explaining anything to people who are ranting without proper arguments.

And if you'd be so kind to read his words first, eh? You can flame me after.

That quote is Dusty's and he's part of the balance team who already has quite a lot of numbers and ideas for capships "on the paper" and most of the important ones are neither mine nor Chopper's.

Oh, damn Mjolnir, Choppe and Dusty Lens, for hating a fictitious class of spacecraft so much that they wish to have them made from papier mache!

Oh, wait, no...

In fact, last I saw, they were for strengthening various aspects of battleships, such as armour, and Mjolnir in particular was trying to make battleships better at specific tasks by boosting Battle Razors, Infernoes and similar.

But, I digress, since we all learned from the Pacific Theatre of WW2 that battleships are made obsolete by bombers and carriers.

Maybe nerf history?

Maybe a slight agility decrease in exchange for some more bots/bats?

We could make up for the imbalance of the USA's carrier fleet by giving Japanese battleships shields and larger powerplants.

It's not really how much bombers it takes to take it down... it's how hard it is to take down a bomber engaging you.... Jinx had some excellent ideas about nerfing bomber strafe speeds... that should be looked in to...

Anyhow, it is supposed to be fun. When you get your BH BS and run in to Chogoku to chase a bomber... you're in for rough time....

Battleships feel quite alright, they need some improvements but nothing radical, 10 to 20% and a shift in cap weapon philosophy... (not secondary turrets... mortars and stuff like that) With the bouncing that will be fixed as my solution suggests, even that might not be needed. It all depends on how the bombers and gunboats are nerfed, and how the cruisers are improved....
