Looks like the onboard LAN on my PC has karked it. Consequently I can't come over to play Disco till I get it fixed :(
I dunno whether its software or hardware.... tried reinstalling drivers with no luck. I have a number of options:
1) Buy a new M/B or NIC and install it;
2) Reinstall Win and hope the problem goes away;
3) Both
So how am I typing here you ask? I'm using Mrs.Onca's PC, which unfortunately is waaaaay too slow to run F/L.
I suppose your next question is, why don't I pinch the NIC out of this PC and put it into my PC, so I can play Disco again? Ha ha, I'll pretend I didn't hear that. (The missus loves playing those awful MSN zone games, so not an option if I wanna live :P ).
Have u tried rebooting the computer (im sure ur not that dumb)
Have u tried reinstalling the hardward (not the drivers)
Have u tried looking at the read-me
and finnally:
Have u tried looking inside ur lan thingy. (or if its the card dont bother lol)
hope this info can help u.
oh wait i got a great idea. run ur internet through her computer if it can be done.
and if it comes to this take it from the wife and say its national security of somthing LOL :D
hope u get it fixed :)

Install a new NIC then. Those are not expensive. In fact, i think they are the cheapest hardware around..
Here, a NIC is sold for around U$S 4. Those might be cheaper there...
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )

Yeah that was gonna be my next move.
But its ok now.... I uninstalled driver, rebooted and disabled the onboard LAN in BIOS, restarted windows (of course), let in get itself straightened out, rebooted again, turned LAN back on, restarted Windows and installed driver.
Works!!! Hooray :D
So the driver got corrupted somehow, thank goodness.... and Windows wouldn't get rid of the driver entirely until the LAN was disabled in BIOS. Ahhh ya gotta love Windows. :wacko: :wacko:
