As a pilot of an osiris I can easly tell ya that it normal takes 2
shots to down a fighter...given it has to be 2 full on shots.
Other then that my guns refire is to low and makes it hard
for capital ships to shoot down fighters at times.(Hence why
dodging our fire is good)
Now if they were strong enough and balanced right. A battleship
should be able to knock out a fighter in 1 blow. But the shield denies
me that.
With Respect Linkus... Did you read what I said on the difference between nerfing and rebalancing? at all?
A well thought out rebalance can actually let you increase the power of a gaming element, in this case capital ships.
And as for not dying at a single hit, thats something Im very very very glad of, it lets me make some use of my few batteries if Im really fast.....
And Jure, that idea for a test sounds good... that way people who plan to use capships in an in-RP manner wouldnt be denied their vessel, and anyone who is thinking of capworing would have a tougher time of making everyones life troublesome...
"Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to several friends of mine, they like to keep a fixed distance from me most of the time, and they have a tendancy to spin and gyrate on multi-directional mounts faster than you can compensate for. They disgorge 75 isojoules of subatomic disruptive destructive energy. Fear the tachyon cannons"
Wait... Ramming works on capships? I tried it in single player on a dreadnaught patrol and barely escaped without so much as denting the guy..... but thats SP for you.... and not that I intend to do it, Im just curious as to why the physics engine would allow a physical impact to do damage to something with such a strong shield....
Well, thats a point about the rules. You might miss a fighter breaking rules, but something that weighs 1000 or more metric tons and sports more than 6 turrets is really really hard to miss, in any sense of the word....

That is how it should be yes... two salvos, one for shields one for the hull. A mastery in it's own to do it... it's that simple 2 shot not 1 shot, that allows a skilled fighter to live...

Anyone can get one after only a short time powertrading.
Capships are supposed to be rare, and far too many show up both from players and in terms of NPCs, though not as badly for the NPCs.
Sadly this cant really be done.
Some battleships even sell for 900 mil, only 99mil away from the credit limit...If there were no credit limit this could be done, but sadly i think its not possible. The only way this could be done is to make it so that money is harder to come by, but that would mean revamping every price for everything in the whole mod.

If you can not avoid Battleship turrets in a fighter then you fail at piloting,
I suggest you have someone train you in a fighter.
Your shortcomings aren't everyone else's problems or reason enough
to nerf Battleships even further. A battleship however should not be opening fire
on a sigle fighter unless the fighter is talking or showing hostilities, but fighters
always do anyways

Everything you need to eliminate rule breakers is already in your "print screen" button.
People encourage others to read the server rules, but they never seem to grasp the concept that you can report others for breaking the rules.
(I've been saying this for how long?)

This thread should be called caps re re re re re re re re examined. Leave em alone. The only thing that should be worked on is bringing down GB missile turrets (which I am sure is going to be done).
They don't need to be more powerful then they are, a cruiser with a few fighters for cover pwns all, let alone all larger classes. If you don't like being killed in a cap, bring some friends along.
A fighter will not kill a real cap (cruiser and above). If you are having trouble with one, get some buddies together and tear it apart.
