Basic idea for event to bring everyone together ( just an idea ) , yea or nay , I won't be offended !
Andrew Stuart is released , leads a raid with the new BAF Privateers and Mandalorians deep into Kusari to rescue Athenian/Brinkley , pursued by large KNF retaliatory group back to Taus / Leeds / Harris (?) , where the new BAF ( and faithful BAF indies ) are waiting in force , epic battle ensues !!!
I'll pm the principles for comment but all who would be involved are welcome to provide input , so please do !
Good , bad , too much ? As I said , just an idea ... and requires a lot of people too .
Right, I'll see about setting up ships, et cetera.
The Privateers are making use of Fireflies now, for some class robbery. >:D

Fireflys?!? I like my Percheron
' Wrote:Sure... but you should outline how you think it should work a bit more..
and btw. KNF has a prison ship with some 200 BAF pilots, 50 GB captains and some 30 cruiser commanders now;)
Speaking of which, if the privateers are flying the rescue attempt for Brinkley, why don't we target the prison ship as well? A hit and run. I can bring the Magpie along to suck up the pilots.
Phase 1 Escape
- BAF privateers and Mandalorians infiltrate Kusari space ( fighters / bombers and a
hoover vessel for the POWs ) after receiving intel about a large prisoner move .
- KNF ( if they're willing ) put up the or a vessel containing the
abovementioned small horde of BAF prisoners ( including Brinkley ) , escorted by 2-4 fighters .
( Im thinking Kyushu , maybe from the battleship , Nagumo ? Bear in mind Im pretty clueless about Kusari space , not sure if this is sound RP . Ambush and freeing the captives to take place between Nagumo and Tsushima , allowing BAF forces to escape via Tau 23 JH , dont want to cruise past the Nagumo on the wayout ! Head for Tau 31 , pursued by scrambled KNF fighters ? )
Phase 2 Evasion
- BAF exfil under fire / pursued by KNF fighters to Tau 31 ( or not , could be a clean break until the big un in Tau 31 / Leeds ? )
- KNF marshal forces in Tau 31 , advance towards Leeds JG as a blocking force to stop escaping prisoners and BAF rescuers from reaching Leeds .
Phase 3 Finale
- BAF reinforcements ( ie the cavalry ) engage KNF pursuers ( now bolstered by KNF warships from Tau 31 ) in an epic battle royale (incl capships ? ) allowing the vessel containing the liberated POWS to escape to Leeds .
How does that sound ( Of course no plan survives enemy contact !!) ?

Phase 1: KNF are escorting Brinkly from his mock-trial on New Tokyo to Fuchu Prison in Shikoku, where possible snatch-and-grab by the Privateers happens over Junyo.
Phase 2: Running fire-fight between KNF guards and BAF-P toward Tau-29, where in an effort to elude the KNF, the BAF-P make for the Tau31 JH, while BAF re-enforcements make their way to Leeds JG as the strike force heads toward the JG from Tau31 side.
Phase 3: Thinking they've out-smarted the KNF, the BAF are greeted by the KNF, who used the lanes to bolster their force and arrive faster than the BAF. the BAF from Leeds jump to Tau31 and huge battle ensues.
Yeah I was thinking I could make an AT just for this event.
The attack would be the signal for Brinkley and the other POW's to attempt to overpower the crew and take control of the ship. So at the beginning the AT would fire on the BAF forces. Hrrrrrr. At a certain point (within twenty seconds of the shields being completely down) the ship is taken and joins the BAF rescue squad and they attempt to escort back to friendly space, as above.
The crew I have listed in the story about Brinkley's time in prison. The real goal would be to get a QCID chap called Mason who is among the prisoners. Brinkley will appreciate not being hanged as a war criminal, but who wouldn't....
The one point that I must make reading this now, (more constructive input later, busy for a day or 2), is this:
3 phases at multiple locations can fall apart in implementation. An event is like herding cats, and since it isn't a rehearsed thing, it goes to hell quickly.
Best simplify it a bit.
Drifter's plan is doable, but it gets very hard to manage.
' Wrote:1) Privateers attack in Kyushu - retrieve prisoner (ship is taken over by Brinkley) take through tau 23 (not chased
2) KNF race through Tradelanes to Tau 31, second, bigger battle happens there - indies and BAF re-enforcements arrive
The essence of the outline , thanks , Coriko .
Brinkley and Co's takeover sounds great for the story , if KNF are happy to transfer the motherlode of prisoners to the newly created AT Athenian mentioned ?
Respawn will be necessary for only the KNF , I think ( the pilots downed during the initial raid , maybe 2 fighter escort , we dont want to get bogged down in a protracted battle ( which would kind of defeat the whole lightning raid premise ) ? ) , to give them a chance to fight in the main battle .
I'm also thinking ... the KNF blocking force could be in place befor the raiders reach T31 , and be in an engagement with the BAF cover force ( May have been standing by in Leeds , see the Kusari build up , jump to T31 to engage / provide cover for escaping raiders ? )
Just to reiterate : The primary objective is the retrieval of the prisoners , in particular Sir Roger and the QCID man ( Does he have vital intelligence for BAF Command ? ) . Once they are safely in Leeds , BAF and KNF can disengage ... or continue ( BAF-P and Mandalorians can return to assist after the objective is safe ? )
This is , again , an outline . Once the first shot is fired , everything comes down to the decisions of the commanders ( I'm assuming that'll be Blunt for the raiders , Dieter for the BAF reinfircements , KNF ... Lotek/Mjolnir ) on the scene , maybe we dont go through Tau 23 after all ... heh heh !
