One aspect of this issue is that people come up with out of the ordinary characters and harbor expectations that they will be understood and accepted for what they are supposed to be. This is fair, provided they understand that the onus of making these characters understandable is theirs (forum stories, character discussion/feedback threads, distinct in game role play and so forth).
What is paradoxal is that sometimes these people will expect that other characters will react to theirs according to some preconceptualized vision they hold of how it should happen. That is pretty hypocritical.
...(OC point of view)...
Well of course I DO talk with Corsairs.
It goes like this:
Me: Do you want to dance Corsie?
Corsair: Die Outcast scum!
(big pew pews and heck of a long time until somebody dies)
Me: I realy hate to say it but I told you so...
Corsair: I will get you! *Cut!* -> See? We DO hope to meet next time! :D
C'mon, isn't that enough?

But isn't it funny when we all get to enjoy those moments in New York when they kill someone and the remarks that follow go something like "But I don't have a bounty on me! I'm just a pirate minding his own!"?
I think the counter proposal to your discourse is that, if you encounter someone who could potentially kill you -- or is inclined to based off of faction relations -- then do not expect anything, not even admonition prior to him launching lasers up your exhaust pipe. I digress though and say that what you have there is the way RP should be handled. The only issue with it is that people are very unruly.
Also, if someone has an 'unordinary' character and expects everyone to understand that they have a certain seniority over being reduced to a cloud of dust and debris; think again. Just 'cuz you're a former Outcast from the Uncharted Planet of Lackadaisical who's broken away from his past to perssue a career as a trader won't mean Mr. Pirate will sympathise with your RP and reconsider plundering you. 'Course, you could always hire a merc to escort you through Liberty if that be the case -- oh, wait...

Honestly, between the experienced Corsairs and the experienced Outcasts, there is no divide anymore. Back in the roaring days of Skype Sociability when people still talked to each other, as opposed to what we do now (essentially faction chats), I got along marvelously with almost all of the Corsairs. So did most of my informal partners-in-crime (this was before the 101st). The RoS had some issues early on, but they got over that, too, and now they are on good terms with most of the older Corsairs (excluding those old Friday and Saturday Night Fights, the failure of which I blame entirely on TWO PEOPLE, who know damn well who they are, playing both sides of the field and inciting conflict). The issue is with the youngest batch of Outcasts and Corsairs. These relative kids come onto the server and basically go looking for fights. There's no camradarie anymore, it's all about getting the kill. That needs to end. People need to start caring about the RP and making friends between people who RP, no matter what the faction affiliation.

Well...I think this was a lot of what I was getting at, but your big words are much better at making it make sense...
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
but its the admins rules. if they want the rp to be restricted to the point of biew of only a number of players then it is their right to do so.
in truth, nothing in rp prevents a corsair coming and docking at manhattan if he so wants to rokle play it -- hecan come on a peace mission. this is why this mod is quite special -- because somehow people still get along depiste all these rather strange rules.
i suspect it could break down into acrimonious bickering but then maybe new players will come.
Well who would guess Eppy?
Of course we get (sometimes) along! It's just for sake of ->ROLE PLAY<-.
But like I've said, if somebody wants to use "Mounty Munter" for his lack-of-guts-with-other-char, to take "crusade" on other side-> is wrong. And makes everyone look bad.

Quote:Now, is it wholly possible for an Outcast and a Corsair to meet and talk with each other? Well, it happened, on Yanagi, to be exact. It is there in the rumors. Can someone roleplay it? It's far-fetched, but yeah, we all can, depending on how we all look at it.
I have indirectly referenced this in talking to Corsairs and Outcasts on several occasions and have gotten the response, "Impossible!"
There is a historical precedent in our actions at Yanagi. It's a shame so few seem to know of it.

That about laughing female Corsair and male Outcast? Well, I guess you were talking with Outcasts and Corsairs in Sigma 13? They are just looking for a fight, it wouldn't work with them... It's like talking in Omega 5 to calm down Hessians and Corsairs... Impossible at this time... But question remains... This war can't be forever, and some side must get atleast some territory in next mod... So is there any chance there will be progress in our OC/C soap-opera?
