that's a fact.

Who would want to play Mollys now.. they don't do anything... fight corsairs if they come to bretonia yes.. that doesn't happen that often... and you are better to join BAF if you want to do that..

Fact that Mollys participate in the war on Bretonia side (not that openly, btw) doesn't mean that they can become lawful and claim Dublin. Given the situation in Bretonia, they are more likely to conquer Dublin. Can see (theoretically) how Mollys can enter some sort of agreement with the Queen or BAF, but definitely not with BMM who are very influentual within Bretonia. Even if they do have some sort of agreement, I don't forsee any future for Mollys as two separate factions. They are either allied with Bretonia or hostile to Bretonia, either claiming all Dublin or not, but they stay united.

So, if they become lawfull, bretonia will have no future, except if a 3. pirate faction comes - maybe a few corsair or outcats bases in bretonia, or a new pirate faction.

The Mollies should be factionalised. The UoG treaty was with the UoG, not all Mollies, as far as I was aware. Any Mollies that don't want to tow the Bretonian line should be more than free to stir up a little "dissent". Kepps things interesting. If the UoG have truly disappeared, then I guess the RP could be that they've been dealt with by the 'real' Mollies, and the treaty could go with them.

I agree with Hyperion. If anything, a splinter group from the Mollys should be extremely small with the majority of them still staying in the unlawful part holding Dublin.

I reckon in the next version the war should be taken up a notch, forcing Bretonia and Kussari to re-deploy there forces to the front line (basically turn the border system into almost constant NPC skirmishes and because of roleplay PC as well). There for Military presence is decreased and certain individuals (such as the molly's on the Bretonian side) decided to drive the remaining military out of Dublin and because of the war there aren't enough ships to stop it.

There are already the O'Malleys and O'Kellys, Molly clans that don't hold with the harlot Queen, and like to drink and fight and pirate. It's pretty fun, too, but then Dusty Lens and Del are kinda AWOL so it fell apart... I still have mine though. Werewolfs + Trefoils = Fun

This idea is really interesting and it would fit what we have in Ireland. A political branch to the armed movement, that has a certain public recognition and discuss some matters with the officials, and the armed branch who doesn't care about it and keep fighting.

So you could make a new Mollys faction with two sub tags, one for the policians, the diplomats and negociators, a bit like the existing Sinn Fein, and the armed liberation forces, that would fight to remind the bretonian authorities and the BMM that Dublin is free.

This would allow this faction to keep a pirate activity but also to forget sometimes to old conflict to build episodic alliances with the BAF to fight against common ennemies.

If it's an all or nothing proposition, then I think they should stay unlawful. Again, I don't see much for the Mollys to do if they're legal.

In the case of a split faction, what about the following scenario: UoG (whose low activity lately makes the whole treaty questionable anyway) has made the treaty with the Crown, but really only represented a minority of Mollys, and are subsequently expelled from Dublin, rendering the Treaty moot. They gain control of Belfast and Mull in Newcastle, and remain legal and in good relations with the Crown, while working to take back Arranmore, and therefore Dublin. Arranmore and Londonderry remain in control of the anti-treaty Mollys.

This could be reversed, with the anti-treaty Mollys in the Newcastle bases, but I'm not sure if that wouldn't be even more far-fetched, as they'd have to try to recapture Arranmore.
