Okay, the old faction had a damn Battlestar. Now as much as this might be in RP, or in ID parameters, I wouldn't pursue this, and keep the Xcalibur as nothing more than a legend.
Also, GMG are tight with the IMG, so I suggest we would allow IMG gunboats in extremely limited number. Three, tops.
Quote:We will not go out of our way to engage criminals unless they directly threaten our operations. Sigma-13 is a very frequented system, and as a result, plagued by pirates and privateers. Our job however is not to police Sigma-13, but to make sure that the Gas Miners are not harmed. This means that any sort of robbers, pirates, criminals and terrorists nearby the Gas Miners that are refusing to leave the area and are threatening our operations can be engaged by GMG Guardian at their discretion - unless ordered otherwise by a superior officer of the Guild. Gas Miner Naha, Gas Miner Ogashawa and Aomori Station are to be directly protected at all times as long as possible.
Those especially proving a thorn in our side can be put on a "target of opportunity" list to be pursued and eliminated whenever sighted in the Sigma systems or Honshu. The Guild may also employ the services of mercenaries and freelaners.
Another excerpt from the old proposal. And the only one I suggest we would adopt completely.
Anyone still have any extra thoughts or willing to support a new GMG player faction?
Quote:Btw, just thought I would mention this, although you'll need to clear it with the leader of the Rheinland Military anyway.
GMG are supposed to also have several operational Rheinland Battleships in their order of battle, though one was destroyed in an incursion into Omicron 85. At least two remain operational though, so you might want them as special one-off units that the GMG is allowed, as spoils of war, which you won. Entirely up to you of course, but good RP nonetheless (and rubbing the RM's nose in your victory over them every time they see them XD).
This too was in the thread, now I can imagine that this is what may have lead to friction to those who wouldn't know (such as myself until now)
Quote:Pirating is the most famous idea for the Sigma-13 territory, but no more. Pirates must first pay officials to allow them to pirate offlanes near the area of the debris field. Every 500,000 credits will aid on to an airtime of 30 minutes for that day. Pirates are not allowed to pay for entire days. Any pirate not agreeing to pay officials to conduct their business offlanes will be shot down. Ships carrying the identification of an "Associate" are authorized to conduct their business off lanes.
A very interesting option in the old guild. Thoughts?
EDIT: I would just avoid that completely for fear of friction, Prowler. We don't really need Rheinland ships anyways.
It would be an attempt. Can't say that I could fully predict the outcome. Perhaps with the Blood Dragons. GMG is lawful but has a hidden agreement with them.
From what I have read and known, GMG is anything but lawful. Except to themselves, of course. They are in fact a mini-house in their own right, with the Sigmas being their space. They own it, they rule, and they dictate as such. BDs and GCs would be neutral/friendly, simply for the reason that the GMG doesn't give a hoot about what happens to neutral traders in the Crow.
Just a note, Blood Dragons would be friendly but I don't know about the Golden Crysanthemums. They probably don't like the GMG wasting their Outcast allies - while the Dragons don't really care about their mask-breather "friends".
Yes I agree to not use the Rheinlans BS's. A good source suggested it but it is unecessary.
I can afford many ships but not a fully loaded dread.
I see myself as one of the primary traders.
I don't mind trading and I do like to pull others into escorting, something I've done for S/D on several occasions to warm up recruits to the border systems.
