Well I have an independent asteroid miner character already set up, even though its an asteroid miner it could be a gas miner in RP i spose. And that would be part of the GMGs primary RP reason of being on freelancer. In which case i'd be happy to join it.
But i spose as for most of the other people it would probably make up a GMG faction based around the GMG gaurd (if there is one o.0) because not everyones gonna want to be ina faction that mines 24/7.
EDIT: Just read back on some of the previous posts (i really should do that more often since i totally go off topic reading just the first few posts:dry:)
Anyway I want in with my miner if that's ok? I'm gonna just RP with my miner for a bit then possibly make a fighter or transport or somthing. Well that's of course if you guys are letting me in?
I don't see why Luxury Liners should be included. They are designed to haul rich people around Sirius past planets and celestial phenomena, not act as offices or trading vessels.
Perhaps an emphasis could be made on the Whale, over the Advanced Train, as the Whale was designed/built by the GMG.
Edit: Regarding the following:
Quote:-No '//' in system chat, avoid using it in Local (Use in Local only if something urgent has come up and you need to address it to multiple people (E.g. Having to leave in the middle of a large fight)), in PM, try to use '//'.
I think this should be edited to:
Quote:-No out-of-roleplay messages in system chat, including those marked with '//'. Avoid using oorp chat in Local, unless an urgent situation needs to be mentioned (example, incoming disconnect, disengagement, etc). In PMs, use '//' to mark out-of-character chat.
The mention of "no //" could confuse someone into thinking unmarked OOC is allowed.
Edit Two: Why are mini razors restricted without approval, whilst Supernovas are not? I presume mini razors will primarily be on fighters, so the leadership prefers Train CDs (to chase down pirates before they escape into nebulae)? Supernovas might be considered standard equipment for GMG bomber craft, so I guess that's the reason why. But the mini razor thing needs a bit of explanation (you can pinch my "razor justification" RP if you want).
Edit Three: What do new pilots start in? The previous GMG faction started with... Taiidan HFs for Security personnel and Gas Miners for traders. Will this faction use those restrictions?
I see the Taiidan is higher ranked up than the Eagle. Why? The Eagle is a more expensive piece of tech, and arguably better in combat. I'd suggest:
Rookie
Taiidan HF
Civilian ships (except Eagle)
Lt.
Civilian Ships
Stinger
Taiidan HF
If the Stinger is being restricted due to its hitbox issue, then take into account balance changes next version. I think it should be available earlier, if it's fixed next version.
Also... Robert, on the other things, I will use your version of the no OOC comment| it is much clearer and more understandable
New personnel start in any civilian line ship of their choice.
Mini razors are restricted and Supernovas are not since Supernovas are a necessity for Bombers, whereas mini razors are not, and we would also like a few of our people to use Train CDs to catch the fleeing pirate etc.
Also... due to en error in the GMG ID (GMG ID owners cannot.... wait for it.... mine.), our miners will have to use Miner IDs until we can get this fixed
Also, I had an idea about unmarked, untagged GMG ships meeting with the Blood Dragons for secretive deals. A freelancer id'd eagle meeting the Blood Dragons to arrange a weapons/training deal would be more realistic than a typical GMG fighter going in. GMG diplomats to unlawfuls could be in unmarked/untagged ships to maintain this whole, secrecy thing:).
Edit: I don't know whether mining is possible/will be added, so you could leave the ID in. Or ask Kuraine for a little ammendment to the GMG ID.
I'd be interested in joining or helping a GMG faction emerging in any way.
My two cents: you are going to immediately run into the problem of how to deal with Sigma 13's traffic. Work out your own RP first before you start making a policy to deal with all these "trespassers". It helps to ignore them. And I mean ignore them. Being in 13 is going to be a real challenge for you, so you can set a good example, get good exposure for your team and raise the standrads. Or you can fall to the low standards maintained by some of the people who frequent the route.
And I like that you guys scrapped the caps: you don't "need" a cap, not even a gunboat, even for a flagship. You have a base. That is enough of a presence RP wise. A faction of fighters and bombers, which follows the lore of the GMG, will add to the authenticity of the faction.
Perhaps ditch the generic trade ships. Weapon wise: GMG, generic, or civilian. - don't dilute the GMG flavour you have overall. And arms deals to acquire other factions weapons and ships will set you on the road to being less unique than you could otherwise be. Live within your limitations - it raises your profile.
But as I said, I'd love to see a GMG faction emerge.
