I do, however, agree with Bs| that an RP should be posted for their characters. Not just the capships, but every character. I'm aware that this takes time, and I certainly cannot throw the first stone, as many of my chars don't have bios yet.

Regardless, remember the point of the game is to have fun.

I just do not want to see a person who cannot write stories/forum RP to be excluded simply on those grounds. I think we can both agree, that we do not want to see power-gaming or abuse in any way.:)

This isn't my issue, it's thier's. I didn't start this faction vs. indie crap, the factions did when they lumped all indies into the "bad" bin.

Now, back on topic.

I don't think you get my point, fellow dude. Sure, that might not be the current status of the server right now in your eyes, but that definitely is a goal that we are all, as a community, aiming for. I think that you can agree with that.

As for the RP/Character Bio/Story posts, they are meant to be supplementary, as I've said before. I think that Bs|'s intention for the story post is for the independent to explain the origins of such a capital ship. This is, after all, a roleplaying server. Certain degrees of realism are observed to an extent, and it most definitely is not very realistic to have random capships pop up all over the place.

I'll be honest. There really is no reason for the capships to not be there.

But I will encourage you to do this. Instead of looking at the server in such a negative way, look at this as a positive exercise. It's a perfect opportunity to put some of your wildest imaginations on paper and share them with other people. (N.B. Please don't share if they are too explicit. Remember, personal boundaries).

Then put it in the rules, password protect the server, and only let people on when they meet those additional requirements.

BTW, I probably post 100 lines of RP a day on RPOL, real RP for RP's sake, not "I'm a robot alien hybrid ubership so I can fly this" rp.

And I agree. I don't want to see players who can't come up with a cohesive story get excluded from our community. I think this is really a wonderful place to be, and I would hate to see that happen.

In fact, the people who I really feel bad for are our nationals who cannot speak english. I remember trying to pirate a few non-english speakers, and it was just very bad. They even tried to RP with me, but required a dictionary and a translator.

But I do think that mwerte mentioned a few pages back about keeping a log. I think that everyone here is more or less capable of figuring out how to take screenshots and typing a few lines.

If a Faction decides it is then yes I agree with the regulations, but I dont think it should be a Server Rule, unless of course.

(A faction owning a Guard system can dictate policies in that system, that includes sales of equipment, ships etc.)

That I belive yes. Furthermore, I also belived in the OC Cap registration and I still do. I belive that unless the ones actually RPing that they are in control of said faction says otherwise you shouldnt be able to buy a cap ship of that faction.

There is alot of people willing to help those that cant write stories (ive done it alot of times) and im willing to do it again, this is about being able to have fun and being able to enjoy the experience without fearing that a BH Capship may appear out of nowhere and blast you out of space. (sorry for using BH all the time).

Yeah, there was a Russian BH in a capital ship offering me an escort and he could not speak english that well but he was trying and I appreciated it. (I did not need it because I can take out a OC Dreadnought in my train.)

I want Swiss to post his response, and we shall see where this goes from there.

No, the Bs| is making real threats of PvP whoring people based on on forum RP. You seem to agree with them.

And to correct a point about factions, they own a system, they don't own ships sold outside that system at all, and once you buy a ship and take it out that system it is far from clear they have any rights to that ship after that.
It all boils down to one simple thing, either this is an exclusive factions only server, or it is for all players who want to play within the rules.

Which way do you want it to be? Inclusive or exclusive? Fun for all or just fun for bullies?
