I am reminding everyone that I make the models and somtimes the textures too but the rest is like a different language to me. I can make the hitboxes, if someone can tell me what it is and how to make it, but the hardpoints and variouse files that need to be packed properly confuse me too much.

So if any of these models are to be submitted I will need someone else to join forces with me, like "NEXUS", and help me to complete the rest of the tasks needed before submission.

You can find the information to make an SUR here. I will edit the post later on with a media fire link to a bunch of useful FL modding tools given to be by a friend of mine. I think I am getting the hang of coding stuff so I can put together a basic package for the other far more experienced modders to go through.

BTW I love the new station model.

The good thing is that it contains almost every single program created for freelancer modding and should have everything you need to follow the Tutorial above. I was thinking about the hispania and how it has a cool tunnel going through it and I used to use the bottom tanks, on a med-small base, to hide from the clouds of hostiles out side and know the need for shelter in space to recoup or just talk without danger of being killed or kicked for base sitting.

So my idea is to build a sort of space bunker. it would just be somthing like a set of rooms that fighters and smaller transports to fly up into so they can sit in space and chat without fear of attack.
I personally think it would be the greatest idea.:nyam: You could put one outside of every major planet and some in the random hard places around sirius where they are needed.

It would be easy to build such a "Stockade" and the main job would be to make sure the hitbox is exact so there are no invisible walls. and it would have to be a factionless peace of metal so you could shoot it without reprecusion.

Ok so I have a better idea yet. it is the same premise but much bigger and it has a small dock for basic repair. So it would have to be affiliated to its area and could have turrets. "The Forum" would be like a big hallow base with the dock inside.

* The entry point at the bottom of the forum would be much like the stokade.
* It has an upsidedown control tower hanging from the top wich has a fighter dock going strait up into it.
* It has a landing pad pedistal in the center "just for looks"

sounds a nice idea. but hitbox will probably be a headache to do. but im all for it.
if we can do that, then we can think of even larger structures where ships can fly within...
imagine, flying within the outer structure of the dyson sphere for instance.

Prison station anyone? Its hostile to the pirate.. pirate that is under "arrest" follows the lawful, who triggers a door to open, pirate flies in.. and can't get out since he can't open the door.

Then when pirate serves time the lawfuls can let em out...

I am still waiting for peaple to fill out the questionnaire on post #74.

But in the mean time, I have finished my second base.
It is a bit smaller but more polys, it is a liquid materials prossesor.
Tt has 2 small docks and 2 large docks.
So tell me what you think but dont forget to go look at post #74 in this thread!

Screw the form!
Simply put:
I like them, but they won't get into 4.85
Love the bases, there isn't enough variety in disco right now.
The passenger ship looks a bit smooth for Freelancer, a bit too clean.

The forum is more useful than the stockade, or any structure you can fly around in is cool.

But the smaller one if you could make it like a jail, with a nifty FLHook trick... but I don't see it being useful.

The station looks good, but I think that the tanks need better textures.

As for a chatbox? I dunno, I don't think we should be encouraging OORP chatter, RP chatter is another matter though.
