Good evening people of Discovery, this week and yes its been a while, I have a scenario to put to you.

What if some of the high profit runs that end in New York system were relocated to neighbouring systems?

Now as for this idea, there needs to be some RP backing correct? But off course, this is Discovery!

For the Cardimine/artifacts, I have a suggestion, in RP the war forces the relocation of a percentage of the elitist population to Denver and others to Los Angeles. This is due to the number of peers of equal level and high developed planets. (This is a basic, but maybe likely issue in a war. The rich run and the poor plunder)

With the migration of the Cardimine and Artefact trade, this will split the smugglers and the police, and to an extend the navy's attention to said systems. Spreading the population of Liberty somewhat. Colorado would get more action to bold smugglers, the Xenos would see some more... opportunities too. As for California the law would be forced to be more active and move into that system to safeguard traders, and catch pesky smugglers.

I cannot recall any other good imports to Bretonia right now, but I know there are more.

Feedback on this scenario?

The Cardi/Slaves run was going to PA in 4.85 for those who knew how to be proper smugglers and stay out of the lawdogs sight. With the bottleneck on Alaska the Artifact run is at a minimal. Overall i do agree to take all high profit runs from NY to keep the system population down. Alien organisms was a good run to Bretonia, don't know if that is still the case.

Devtonia ; all-or-nothing approach to bias.

Well, if a trade run that comes in from Alpha now has to go not to Manhattan now has to go to Los Angeles, I predict that the pirates that lane camp along there will soon have more to feed on.

Seriously - I will go up to Colorado, over to Ontario, and down to California to get to Cortez at times rather than deal with the amount of pirates that hang out between West Point and Riverside.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the cargo I specified, or the destinations. I just hypothetically ask if its feasible for the major imports to be somewhat relocated out of NY.

i think it would be nice for texas to be used a bit more.
it used to sell ship hull panels for a nice price, it seems liberty doesnt do that anymore though :/

I dont think it will necesairly split the Police.

LPI isnt doing lots of smuggler watching near Manhatten.
Reason is simple, ppl quickdock when we say halt.

So we just switched our blasting of ppl who want to do illegal stuff but noRP to Houston, what we call blockade check.

Still, I wounder what would happen for the smugglers...
If they will be split in two or they will just find the most profitable and/or less risky way and stick on it.

Sounds like a good idea to me, dispersing the population around new york would make smuggling a lot more fun. I often times get to cortez and think oh good it's easy from here on. I still have to go through a major liberty artery, so that should be the case, but California is so empty.

I like the idea.

Anti smuggling duties in a Liberator against the various heavily armoured smuggles is very annoying. All you can realistically do on your own is TCD the bugger. Slowing him down.

That is all.

On the other note, this scenario is geared towards dispersing the populace away from New York, which is notoriously known as the cesspit.

I was kind of hoping that Xoria's complete re-do of the commodity system would make it so that NY wasn't a trade hub, but alas, it is.

Likely he saw it as realistic, since that is Liberty's doctrine, trade. But my reasoning for spreading the 'wealth' is the war, forcing the rich and likely the black market goods and maybe others the rich want to other planets. Namely Denver and Los Angeles, rich havens.
