Details:
Recruit Jon Kirk is admitted on probation.
Leon Stargazer has returned from a prolonged absence. Pity we had a funeral ceremony minus the body only last week. Your license was revoked after you were discovered to be AWOL, so it's rookie status for you. Requisition a LF from Sheffield and get hunting once you have cleared quarantine.
Assigned to Zone 1 - NY is off limits

Well took me a spin around New London and Cambridge. Seems that activity I mention last week was a fluke. Oy' nothing but traders moving back and forth. Was one bloke I was looking for by the name of Captain Blood. Wanted to get a scan of him, but he must have been hiding on station or some such. I could not find him in space anywhere. No pirates to be seen, and nothing twitchy on the standard system comms. So this bloke went back to the bar. When do we move into Rheinland...maybe there is more action going on over there.

I felt that you needed to see this. I had a rather curious target get by me today eh. In fact this ship, designated Fel, was flying within my scanner range for some time and it wasn't until it passed by my cockpit that I realized that there was something wrong.
It was a Praetorian Bomber, yet my close range scanners showed him as friendly. Which is really odd because I have the BHG Guard IFF. Fel's IFF showed up as Police.
Now this ship had my complete attention eh, but was already moving away. I got to scan it as I followed. Scanners revealed that he was a Corsair with a Corsair ID. Curiously with a BHG pilot as well.
I opened comms relaying my puzzled surprise at this and told him that Corsairs are a bounty nonetheless. No responce. I opened up on his ship. THis turned into a long thurster chase with Fel always flying away and never once turning around to fire back nor communicate over comms to me. My pursuit was fairly dogged but my enthusiasm for a bounty collection was dimmed by the implications of my scanners. Not everyone can be a Bounty Hunter let alone show as friendly to a BHG Guard.
Is it possible the BHG have an agent in the heart of the Corsairs? Is this a Corsair who mistakenly tried Cardimine and fried his brain? I don't know, but here is the evidence from my ship cameras.
I don't have any gun camera evidence from my strange encounter last night. However, I also think this should be reported.
I was on patrol in Leeds when I was contacted by BPA officers about a member of the OPG operating in Cambridge. I headed that way, meeting up with two BAF officers, the HMS-Tartar, and a freelancer just inside the Cambridge jump gate. Apparently the OPG pilot decided to live, and left Cambridge. No big deal.
Well, long range scanners showed something going on in Newcastle, and the HMS-Tartar directed us to head up there, covering all entrances and jump holes. Fine, we got up there, and it turned out to be an Outcast gunboat leaving, and committing no crime.
Again, no issues.
Well, then the BAF found some punk named Volatius Fatum. The guy just had a pirate ID, not affiliated with the Corsairs or any other group, so no bounty on him. The BPA ensigns started hollering that this guy had committed murder and needed to die, and he started pleading for his life.
He surrendered and was surrounded at South Shields Refinery. Again, not a problem. However, the BAF started ordering the BPA officers to just kill the guy - in cold blood, after he'd surrendered. Now - I'm a hunter, and I don't have a problem killing pirates, especially ones that fight or that I get paid to kill. But just blowing up the guy while he's sitting there, helpless - and also something I wouldn't get paid for - just seemed seriously wrong.
I think the BAF and BPA got caught up in the adrenaline rush of the pursuit or something. Anyway, I ended up telling them to stand down or that I would have to testify that they'd killed the guy in cold blood. It was really tense. I ended up taking the guy in custody myself and delivering him to jail. I know it's not part of the job description - but obviously I had to answer the call for help from Bretonian authorities. Given the state of tensions, please advise on how we should handle these unaffilliated pirates in the future.

While on patrol in Dublin today, Hunter Deschain and I encountered two members of the Molly Republic. From my time in London Drugs, I happen to know one, "Ghostface", is somewhat of a leader in that ragged band. With bomber and Sea Serpent, we fell upon them just outside the Molly asteroid field, and after a quick scuffle, Quinlain ate a supernova, and flew off to Eire on a little white cloud to meet his ancesters...
Ghostface took a little longer, but succumbed eventually to a well placed supernova shot. Deschain took several hard hits, knocking off a wing and most of his guns, but came away fine. We're both on the essex at the moment, waiting for parts and supplies.
In any case, myself and Deschain will split the profits, as agreed beforehand. Bounties offered by the BAF and BPA.

It's quite one thing to have bounties on Kusari vessels when they stray into Bretonian space.
It's quite another when there are Kusari bombers and fighters attacking us in New London. Especially when the Farmers Alliance pilot states on the air that this will be their new home.
Personal opinion - regardless of the bounty, our side has been chosen in the upcoming conflict for us.

The war between Bretonia and Kusari is obviously going to affect us all. It may be that some of you come to realise that our role in crime-prevention may soon become military in character.
Having said that, the fact that a few deranged Kusari bumpkins caught you off-guard on one of their jaunts into Bretonia isn't enough reason for us to shout "Banzai" and run for the front with bayonets waving. War is hell. We are concerned with crime. These idiots are, effectively, criminals once they cross the frontier. Try to catch the occasional straggler if you can, but avoid becoming entangled in large military operations.
It may be that the war is resolved sooner than we think. But calm heads will prevail in these uncertain times.

Well did an large patrol today. I ran through Cambridge, New London, Leeds. I then went into Newcastle. Oy' what a big friggan system. Anyhow mapped that out since I had not yet been in there. Jumped over to Manchester, went through Magellan. Cruised through California and into Texas. I only encountered a few Police and Navy blokes the entire time. I think I only saw 3 traders. Zone one was dead today. Well stopped at Houston for a refuel and ran into an old mate of mine at the bar. Will be here if ya need me.

Well started out interesting. Got a tip that there were some Xenos blokes causing issue over in California. So I point my ship that way and jump in. Apparently what ever party they were throwing was over since they had all bugged out by the time I got there. Did managed to get a list of them from a contact though. So I decide to run a patrol since I was already up and about.
Just as I was about to enter the Lane to head towards LA I saw this little red blip pop up on my screen. Seeing how there were just a bunch of those Terrorist nut jobs in system I turn to investigate. This bloke was also a terrorist nut job.
So I think finally a pay day and a tumble. Well this little pansy was only interested in getting away. He hit the trade lanes and ran all the way to the Jump gate for Cortez. Now once he left Liberty he was no longer worth anything but i wanted to see what he was up to. I followed him all the way to Manchester. This bloke never once said a word even after I hailed him a few times. Unfortunatly there are no standing bounties for Xenos in Bretonia.
I stayed with him for a bit just in hopes he would attack me but he was smarter then that. So I left him be but we should watch out for him. One question I got. If dis bloke had attack other folks around Manchester, say Sheffield personal can we open fire on him without a bounty in place?
On a side note while docking at Sheffield I was this bloke and though I should pass it on so we can get him logged with the BAF or BPI as a smuggler.
