Gunboats are about the largest ship most people would really want for general use. They're quite versatile. Also, the Liberty Navy frowns on people buying their ships unless you work for them (Navy tag and ID).
I'm a Liberty Navy boy, but would I be ok if I bought the battleship and my friend bought a gunboat? We go everywhere together. Currently I'm the freighter and he's the fighter (although he dies quick he's getting better fast)
two pages already! Wow you people like to talk and help out
It takes ALOT of work to fly a battleship, RP wise. I would consider that you and your friends get good with fighter/bombers before moving up, but of course, you are free to do as you like.
And i second what everyone is saying about bigger not being better. Bigger ships work well against other big ships, but can be taken down by smaller ships relatively quickly.
Been here for so long, I would recommend you to wait, and learn how the clock work here. Also, I STRONGLY recommend you to contact the LN before buying any cap. To make sure we don't go in game and say 'Who is this cap pilot?!? Ground him!'. If you show them that you are a nice guy who respect others, and do know how to RP, you are in:)
simple heh?
But frankly, I would recommend waiting till next version to buy a capital ship, since most of them will be changed, and may need to be rebough... And I'm 500% certain that the admins will not cover the fees of any capital ship rebuy.
I've got a LN ID and I'm as friendly as I can get with them. I'll heed your advice and I'll just stick to the train, can't wait to buy it! As for cojaz, he might be disappointed but then a donation of about 10 mill should keep him quiet.
' Wrote:Just remember, Bigger does not necessarily equal better here. That Liberty CattleBruiser costs about 250 mil to buy, maybe another 150 mil to outfit, a billion if you put cap 8 Armour on it. So You spend quite a bit on it, you undock feeling all big and bad, ready to take on anything that comes for you. Well, you come upon 3 Xeno Tailidan Bombers, and 4 minuets later your big expensive pretty ship is destroyed by 3 bombers that cost maybe a total of 60 million to by equip and deploy. Let me sum up, Bigger does not mean better.
In other words, when you get your big ship make sure you have a couple of friends tagging along for the ride.
(Alternatively, a missileboat.)
' Wrote:So would I be better off buying the cruiser? That only costs about 15mill.
Sorry about the bad spelling, having a look at my other posts I've used the wrong words and why did I start 2 of these posts. I can't remember doing that, anyway thanks for the heads up on the battle ship, it looked so coll though
Cruisers cost 100+ million. (The Liberty Cruiser costs 126 million.)
@ David Hastings: You linked Xoria's post instead of Athenian's/Patriot's translated capital ship page?
