My Order character spends a lot of time in the Omicron systems (Minor, Delta, Kappa, Gamma) and it's usually very empty aside from the occasional Order indie, Corsair or trader/smuggler.
Now... I like that it's quite empty, means I can blast Nomads and enjoy the nice scenery, but...
I will not throw any names around but I'm tired of people thinking that because they're far away from the populated systems, no one cares if they don't RP.
In the last week I have seen some players:
- Fly right past me without stopping for a scan or even communicating at all.
- Dock at an Order base without permission just to get some equipment, as if The Order just run a shop open to everyone.
- Use Omicron-100 as a shortcut, not caring or knowing that it's highly restricted
- People just blasting everything for fun even though they have no RP reason to do so
- Players docking at Yaren base even though they should be enemies of Corsairs.
- "lolspeak"
Anyway, with these non-RPers, how do I interact with them?
Should I attack them or scare them off? Because if so, I'll have to be attacking about 20 players a week and that seems a little bloodthirsty. It's not that they break rules like docking without permission, it's just that even when I tell them, they clearly don't really care.
It seems the Omicrons are filled with idiots who dock willy-nilly and who *cough* have Corsair tags, Xeno IDs, and Order ships. Or people who hover outside Toledo with their fleet of 9 Osiris', 4 Adv. Battlestar, and 13.5 Corsair Gunboats.
My advice? RP with them. Even if they're stupid. Thats what I did, and I got to blow something up out of it!

Should at least say " In your dreams boyo."

If allied with the order, they are allowed.

Blow them out of the sky.

Report them, its totally oorp to do things like that
Thats my quick and simple answer ^^

- Fly right past me without stopping for a scan or even communicating at all.
Ask them to stop for a scan, pull some roleplay yourself. If the other person likes to roleplay, he/she would play along. Not everyone wants to greet everyone, and stopping for a scan isn't something you should do if not asked.
- Dock at an Order base without permission just to get some equipment, as if The Order just run a shop open to everyone.
Tell them they shouldn't dock. if you see someone approaching the planet, ask them what they're up to. If it's an ally, just let him dock and greet him.
- Use Omicron-100 as a shortcut, not caring or knowing that it's highly restricted
I don't know about omicron 100, but if it's a guard system, make sure they don't get out alive (or at least try to). Also tell them they're not allowed to be there.
- People just blasting everything for fun even though they have no RP reason to do so
If they don't hit players, just ignore them.
- Players docking at Yaren base even though they should be enemies of Corsairs.
Make sure you get screenshots of it, and get them sanctioned. Or if you don't want to, talk to them and ask why they're docking at an enemy base.
- "lolspeak"
Ask them to keep system chat clean of oorp talk. If they don't respond or resort to coarse language, just get their ass sanctioned.
I know about the Omicron-100 thing where I shoo off or destroy anyone who doesn't belong there.
I do try and RP with those who pass by
"<target>, This is Order space, please leave via the Alaska or Delta jumphole"
"You have not been granted permission to dock on Planet Tole-- Wait, why are you docking?!"
"Would you mind stopping so I can scan your cargo? ... Didn't think so"
"How did the Corsairs let you off that station alive?"
etcetera.
Thankfully I haven't seen any PvP (aside from the obvious corsair/order versus bounty hunter)
It's just that when I see a Naval bomber destroying half a dozen Osiris class ships, I wonder, is destroying them worth the "wtf u doin" messages I'll be bombarded with?

Anyway, with these non-RPers, how do I interact with them?
1. Who says they have to say "Hi" when they pass by you? If they engage you ... then yes they need to say something. If you see them fly by ... just say "Hello" yourself. What's stopping you from initiating the conversation?
2. Yes if there's an Order character there it is a courtesy to ask permission to dock. On the same note ... do people expect to ask permission from a Liberty vessel before docking at Manhattan? How about a Junker base?
3. Smugglers will try to get their stuff to and from their destinations as quickly as they can. Yes they will go through Omicron 100. Nothing OORP about that. Just because many Order characters do not like this does not make it OORP. Solution for this is to tell them to go back and engage them the way Liberty engages those in violation of Zone 21. But do not call them non-role players simply because they use Omicron 100. They are role playing a smuggler ... you should role play enforcing the borders of your turf.
4. There are way too many that like to blast everything in sight. If they are in a less capable vessel than your own ... you might be able to ignore them ... possibly send in a violation report. If they're in a more capable ship you're likely to experience a severe headache since they're gonna destroy your vessel and laugh about it. Then they'll argue that you. You can't ignore these guys ... just gotta take your lump and file the violation report.
5. Yup ... too many docking OORP ... lots of sanctions for that. We've got a lot of bounty hunters out there that think they can kill pirates, Junker ID'd characters and other friends of Junkers and still be able to dock on Yanagi and other Junker bases.
6. Can't do anything about "lolspeak" than ignore them and report them. Check the sanction reports ... some of us in .:j:. experienced some time in Bastile for OOC chatter in system. I do hope to see more of this since there are quite a few that have been told numerous times to take their // to private channels.

Keep in mind ... if you attack them ... gotta have a role play reason for it. "lolspeak" is not a good role play reason ... nor is the fact that they fly past you without saying anything. They OORP dock ... well ... if they're supposed to be hostile and dock on your planet ... might be able to role play they were terrorists attempting to deliver some terrorist device. Best bet though is if you see OORP docking is to try to role play them away (without attacking them) and file your report.
