Why do you insist on fueling this dead argument, Dab? Want to address the points stated by Obnoxious and myself?

If you feel you asked a question, please quote it below and I'll answer. I may have missed it, but I backread a few posts and have seen no questions asked of me. And if you had read my post, you'd notice I'm not arguing.

Quote:Caylith cruised to catch up in a capital ship once. Should that disqualify her in being an admin?

The point is, yes, Laowai did something that some people find taboo, or bad form. He could have done it a better way, but he didn't. That said, was what he did sanctionable? No, I don't think so.

So we have an admin getting sanctioned, and a prospective admin who did something once that is frowned upon. What are you asking for here, perfection?

Mistakes are made. One arguable mistake is hardly reason to discount him from being an admin.
Quote:After reading through the several posts Laowai has made (I didn't count any flood posts,, as well, it's flood & surely not to be taken serious 99% of the time) I have seen a few things Laowai has done that leads me to believe he may make a good choice as an admin. Although he has had a couple questionable RP plots, that's part of the game. Not like I haven't seen others, including myself, try to manipulate a role play story to better fit their self or faction to change up the game. I don't agree with what he did or how he went about it, but also the one incident I seen is not enough to convince me that he would not make a good admin & be able to keep the game & the admin responsibilities separate. Biggest influence in my decision was a post he made awhile back criticizing his own play & made a attempts to sanction himself. Not many would do this, & that type of dedication to at least trying to play fair & in the best interest of Disco should be recognized.
As long as Laowai can keep admin duties separate from the game itself. & not let his character goals influence his judgment as an admin, He gets a yes vote from me.
The last post you answered wasn't a question asked of you either, and it continued the argument, whether you were "arguing" or not.

Just would be nice to have the quenching comments that attempt to ice over the argument responded to, rather than the ones that continue it.

So you want me to answer two rhetorical questions, and then Jolly's paragraph that contains absolutely no question.. You know I'm on skype with him right now?

This kind of thing is what continues an argument, not debating with polite statements as I've been doing. I've no mind to help you continue your post grabbing, so unless a real question is posted, I won't be responding to your posts. I don't enjoy arguing all night, especially without purpose.

I voted yes, because of this RP blowup.

And a unique Xeno RP

I don't know this guy, but I read up all his stuff. I also read this interesting thing about the Spy character.

I'd love to see an admin who is considered well-thought and level headed, but who is actually willing to go out on a limb with something unique.

I'm continuing an argument for requesting you address a point that is an attempt to end this bickering of whether or not Laowai's actions were Kosher?

Got it.

(If I wanted to "post grab", I would have argued the fact that Laowai is okay for doing what he did. Save the ignorant remarks, honestly.)

OK ... I haven't read everyone's post here ... mainly because the post count increase by 2 for every 1 I read. So I'll just say this ...

I'm not sure if I've encountered him in forums or in-game or not. I most likely have ... just cannot recall. When I respond in forums, I typically respond to the post not the person (that means I have a habit of not noticing every person I respond to). Kinda my problem as I get older ... attention span shrinks. That and I cannot possibly keep track of everyone's characters.

BUT ... I trust many of those who've provided comments here. There are quite a few seasoned folk here that I trust. Believe it or not ... I argue and get bitter with many folk on various issues ... but I still respect those I battle with on the forums.

That being said ... I vote YES.

I detest when things like these become popularity contests. The other resons for voting no are mine, and mine alone. (Not like it matters)

' Wrote:Quite honestly, I'm very dubious about his political stances. A very, VERY tight trial period is in order.

Oh, and Zelot, i'm not Eppy, and my argument has been the same all along.

 Noted.

The word "lulz" comes to mind, even though I fully do not understand why. It is lovely to see my name come into an argument when I am not there, but it is something to expect I suppose. (I mean, after seeing people who had never even interacted with Akumabito make anti-Akumabito statements, it increased my respect for blind sheep, hence such behaviour is now expected.)

I cannot remember calling Dennis Jameson a power-gamer specifically either, but eh.

Regardless, I voted. (Ben is a Corsair dog, and that was said in a NZ' accent.:P)

On a hopefully more humourous note, does that mean I cannot be anti-Admin anymore? :P

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

I was just thinking about Laowai's spy RP again...

He used a GC tag and ID.

Why the hell would the Outcasts reveal any Nomad-worship in front of a GC?!

Therefore, Outcasts fault, Laowai did good.
